What is Pollution ?
Its causes and effects on society?
How to control different types of pollution?

DISCUSSION:
Waleed: Tells the definition of Pollution (Pollution is the introduction of harmful materials into the
environment).
Daniyal: Tells about different types of pollution (Noise Pollution, Sound Pollution, Air
Pollution, Water Pollution).
Aman: Noise Pollution is the produce of unwanted and excessive sound in the
environment. Such as car horns and loud noise of Machineries from different factories.
Raja Awais: Noise pollution can have different effects on humans and also on animals. In
humans Noise Pollution can cause hearing loss and cause high blood pressure. In Oceans it
is harmful to Whales and Dolphins that depend upon echolocation to survive.
Awais Awan: Air pollution is the presence of harmful substance in Air is known as Air
Pollution. Such as ammonia, carbon mono oxide, Sulphur dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane and
chlorofluorocarbon.
Waleed: There are many problems arise due to Air Pollution in humans such as
respiratory infection, heart disease, COPD, stroke, lung cancer and different skin cancers.
Daniyal: The main cause of Air Pollutions are the smoke of cars and fires and the release
of different harmful gases from factories when directly moved to Air.
Aman: Water pollution is the presence of harmful substance in water. Such as chemicals,
pathogens, organic and inorganic substances.
Raja Awais: The main things which produce water pollutions are the factories which
throw the waste chemicals into rivers and the soaps and detergents which we use for washing
clothes and hands.
Awais Awan: The water pollution is the biggest problem of our society because it can
contaminate a large amount of water and water is our basic necessity.
Waleed: Yes, that true. That contaminated water can also harm our large portion of plants
and crops.
Daniyal: Not only crops and plants. It can also harm our fertile soil and as a result cause
death to ocean animals. It also produces poisonous vegetables for all of us.

Decision MADE:
To Control differents Pollution we should take following
measurements:
Do not allow Factories to throw their waste chemicals in the
water.
Do not allow Factories to release harmful gases into
atmosphere.
Check the Vehicles which are releasing harmful gases into
atmosphere.
Decrease the amount of Soaps and Detergents we use daily.
Do not allow Cars to use Excessive Horns.
Use those Machines which don’t produce too much Noise.
