Darwin S. Barin Progress Report Lesson 1, 2, & 3
The progress report documents your personal journey through the course. This is parallel
to a weekly journal as you learn the topics of the course. The progress report must be
submitted regularly to your teacher as specified by his/her deadlines (every week, every
two weeks, or every three weeks). To complete the progress report for each week, there
are two questions which must be answered in complete sentences and in paragraph form.
Paragraph 1: What are the most significant or most interesting concepts and skills that I
learned this week? Answer in at least 5 sentences.
Paragraph 2: How can I relate the concepts and skills I learned to my course, my future
job, or my everyday life? Answer in at least 5 sentences.
Lesson no. 1
Duration:
Topic: Introduction to Environmental Science
2. With the concepts and skills I learned to my course I can apply the things I learned like
the simple ways of doing things right that has micro effect but if the company policy
adopts it and the community adopts it it will eventually lead to macro effect which will
benefit mother earth. This can start to advising like shifting from paper work to paperless
transaction and promote the use of e-mail and other form of communication to lessen the
use of paper, if it’s necessary and can’t be prevented, promote recycling of used paper.
Lesson no. 2
Duration:
Topic: Elements, Organisms, and Ecosystem
2. I have better understanding of how society is organized. I’ve also learned the
hierarchy of life from the cell to organism to ecosystem, same applies to my future
job if I work as a clerk I will be like the cell and harmony and understanding with my
co-workers can lead to harmony and can lead to achievement of the company’s
vision, mission and goal. In this lesson the theme “Teamwork” even-though not
necessarily discussed but it is something that you will appreciate aften the lesson you
will value the importance of working together as one.
Lesson no. 3
Duration:
Topic: Biogeochemical Cycles
1. In this lesson I came to realized that Biogeochemical cycles are important parts of the
environment to function in transport and cycling of elements and nutrients in ecosystems.
effects of human activities and how it came about to the quick arrival of components and
utilization of supplements, and in the long run making unfriendly impacts the climate. In
this lesson I appreciated more the importance of nature and how everything we spend just
keep on coming around that nothing is really created nor destroyed everything just comes
back around. And humans play a big role in the process of biogeochemicals, that earth
has it’s natural way of recycling and using things and people are the one’s preventing it
causing environmental problems.
2. As an ordinary student even not in my future job I felt compelled to make people aware
that Biogeochemical cycles help clarify how the planet moderates matter and uses energy.
That the cycles move components through environments, so the change of things can
occur. People must understand that we are likewise significant in light of the fact that
they store components and reuse them. In addition, biogeochemical cycles can show us
the association among all living and nonliving things on Earth. And that understanding
these cycles is essential since people influence them. Human interactions are upsetting a
portion of these normal cycles and harming various biological systems. By informing
people and focusing on how these pathways work, people might have the option to stop
the hurtful effect.
