End of School Year Newsletter

Dear Parent/Guardian,

As we approach the end of another school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all
for your help, support and interest this year. It has been a year like no other. A year full of challenges
and restrictions however, a year in which the entire school community has demonstrated resilience,
patience and a willingness to do things differently. Thank you to our school staff, parents and
families, and our pupils for rising to meet the various challenges this year.

I would like to especially thank the families that we are saying goodbye to from Kilkishen N.S. Thank
you for support throughout the years and we wish you and your families the very best as you enter a
new stage in your family’s life.

I would like to bring your attention to the following notices:

School News

June 29 from 2-3pm. The pupils of 6th class will be presented with graduation certificates and
a special presentation gift from the Parents Association and Board of Management. I would
like to wish all the pupils of 6th class the very best in St. Joseph’s Secondary School Tulla and
I thank them for their application and dedication during their time in Kilkishen N.S.
 Sports Days- Our annual sports day was held over two days this year to comply with current
school guidelines. Junior Sports Day took place on Wednesday June 23 with senior pupils
enjoying Sports Day on Thursday June 24. Pupils enjoyed classes with East Clare Fitness on
both days along with many other activities on both days. Photos can be viewed on our school
website. Thank you also to the Parents Association for arranging an ice cream treat on both
days.
 Goodbye Mr. Keane - I would like to wish Mr. Aidan Keane all the best next year as he
finishes working at Kilkishen N.S. on Friday June 25. He will be missed by everyone at
Kilkishen N.S. and we thank him for his tireless work with both Junior and Senior Infants. He
has been a fantastic teacher during his time in the school and always generous with his time
and talents throughout the year.
 New Appointments for 2021-22: A fixed term teaching position covering principal release
days at Kilkishen N.S and 4 other schools will be advertised and filled in the coming weeks.
The vacancy follows the appointment of Ms. Amy McNamara as class teacher for First and

coming weeks. The successful applicants will commence their roles for the coming school
year.
 Parents Association Committee- I would like to thank the Parents Association Committee
for their commitment and support of the school throughout the year. The Committee
organized many events and activities supporting the school throughout the year. I look
forward to continuing to work closely with the PAC in the coming year ahead.
