CANARA BANK

COMPANY NAME: CANARA BANK

INTRODUCTION OF THE COMPANY:


The Project is undertaken in the Canara bank which is one of the fastest growing banks in India.
Canara Bank was founded by Shri Ammembal Subba Rao Pai, a great visionary and philanthropist, in
July 1906, at Mangalore, then a small port in Karnataka. Growth of Canara Bank was phenomenal,
especially after nationalization in the year 1969, attaining the status of a national level player in terms
of geographical reach and clientele segments. Its head office is located in Bangalore, India. The bank
has its international presence in several centers, including London, Hong Kong, Moscow, Shanghai,
Doha, and Dubai.

The GOKAK Branch was established in the year 29th December 2003 and the structure of bank is
divided into three heads:

 Head Office
 Circle Office and
 Branches
The Gokak Branch comes under the HUBLI Circle Office.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

The research has been conducted to study the various loans offered by the canara bank with
different rates of interest and benefits because loans are the lifeblood of banks. Here the
main idea is to study the various loans and advance offered by Canara Bank.
SCOPE OF STUDY

The study is undertaken on a particular loans and advances offered by the bank in this area
such as Housing loan, House improvement loan, Education loan, MSME advances,
Agricultural loans, Direct financing to self help group, Doctors choice, Canara mobile,
Canara budget, Canara pension, Teacher’s loan, Canara mortgage and Demand promissory
note.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

 To understand and analyse the various loans provided by Canara Bank.


 To learn how the Interest is calculated on the Loans and Advances.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
During the course of the summer project, the source of information is obtained in the following two
categories.

1) Primary Data

2) Secondary Data

Primary Data

The data collected is mainly through the direct interview with the Manager, Staffs, and Sub- staff
and by Personal observations.

Secondary Data

The secondary Data is mainly collected from the Annual report of the bank, Books and Canara Bank
site.
