◆ Updating procedure of Regius170/190 Firmware
－Update procedure using Kit2:V100R12－
Ι. Target objects
(A). SCB2_CF:V1.00R07 or later, MCB2 firmwar: V1.00R21 or later version of Regius 170/190
(B). SCB_CF:V1.00R04 or later, MCB firmware: V1.00R19 or earlier version of Regius 170*

Π. Requisites
-Upgrading kit: Update_Kit2:V100R12 [Same for all targeted objects]
-Console: CS-3:V2.00R00 or later (includes CS-1updated machines) or CS-2:V1.00R01 or later
[Same for all targeted objects]
-CF card support tool: CFCorrector: V1.00R00 [Only for case (B) of Ι. Target object]
-PC for maintenance: Type which CF card support tool can be activated [Only for case (B) of Ι.
Target object]
-Dummy-SCB: DmySCB2:V1.00R02, serial cable for MCB board connection
[For a case that volume customize is required]
III. Procedure
1. Upgrading JM/console
If the console of the machine is CS-1/CS-3 and the software version is earlier than V2.00,
upgrade the JM/Console using [CS-1CS-3 program V2.00R03 upgrading procedure] prior to the
upgrading Regius.
-If the console of the machine is CS-2, upgrade the JM/console with CS-2 program V1.00R01 or
later prior to upgrading Regius.
2. Upgrading Regius170/190
1).Pre-confirmation:
[Procedure required for all targeted machine]
(1) Confirm that the reader activates normally when connecting with JM/Console and also
Standby/Wakeup operates in keeping with Start/Stop mode.
(2) In case version of firmware is unknown, check the “cf_version,mcb_version column” in
table of “r_version” of JM.(When for case (B) of I . Target object I. the corresponding
column should be blank). *3)
(3) Pressing the “Operation” button will release the reader.
*3).Refer to <CS-3Installation/Repair the 1st edition> 14.33 [Adjustment]-Setting to
confirm.
*If (1) does not operate normally, change the network setting of JM/console of each table, and
then check it again.
2).Overwriting CF cards:
[Procedure only for case (B) of I. Target object I.]
(1) Remove the CF card from Regius 170 and refer to 3-1. Updating procedure of
REGIUS170 CF cards of [CF card support tool instructions l to update the CF cards.
(2) Install updated CF card to Regius170, and check the normal operation as (1) by pressing
down “Operation” button to check the reader operate normally.
*After confirming (2) item is OK, go to process (3) explained below immediately.
(Do not use reader corresponding to read the data and/or operate any works.)
* If failed (2) to operate normally, re-set the network setting of JM/Console. To change the
reader setting, remove the reader from CF card and refer to 3-3 Network setting change of
[CF card support tool instructions] to change the network setting of CF card. Then go back to
(2) and retry.
3). Updating with Update-Kit:
[Procedure required for all targeted machines]
(1) Update the firmware with Update-Kit2: V1.00R12 referring in 11.5 Updating procedure
of REGIUS 190/170 of <CS-3 Installation/Repair manual 1st edition>.
*Do NOT use Update-Kit2:V1.00R07, 08, 09, 10 and 11 for updating, but make sure to use
V1.00R12.
*Do not upgrade using Update-Kit until overwriting the CF card is completed for (B) case of
I. Target object. (If failed to do so, replace the MCB board and try the process (2)
Overwriting the CF cards again.)
*After overwriting the CF card according to the “”2) Overwriting CF cards,” never restore
the backup data that was saved before overwriting the CF card.
If you restore the backup data as the above case, you have to replace the CF card.
4).Operational qualification:
[Procedure required for all targeted machines]
(1)Confirm that reader work normally when connected to updated JN/Console and that
Standby/Wakeup operates in correlation with Start/Stop mode.
(2) Open “r_version” table of JM and confirm the settings as follows:
“cf_version = V100R11UPK”, mcb_version = V100R26
*.If speaker sound is customized prior to updating, re-set the setting referring the [Reader
Firmware Setting Procedure-Supplement] attached.
