For the first week of these quarter its all about arguments. I’ve learned that
it is an expression of one’s point of view on a particular subject or topic presented
with shreds of evidence and resources supporting the idea to make the reader
believe into something true or correct. I’ve also learned that the three types of
claim which are claim of fact, claim of value and claim of policy. For the second
week, I’ve learned about Citations and it is the means by which you credit other
researchers and writers when you use their work in your papers. We use two
different formats, the MLA format (author-page method) and the APA format
(author-year method). The third week of our lesson thought us about position
paper. I’ve learned that position paper is a composition that high lights an opinion
of an author; presents one side of an arguable opinion and persuades the readers
or audience that the author has well-founded knowledge about the issue.
The lessons on week 4 to week 8 is mainly about research. For the week 4
I’ve learned about Research Report and it’s part such as tittle page, abstract,
introduction, literature review, and many more. I also learned about its types
which are survey, field, and scientific report. For our week 5, I’ve learned about
Surveys and it contains planned questions which are used to measure attitudes,
perceptions and opinions. I also learned the elements of questionnaires and how
to make one.
In our week 6, we learned about research instruments and how they differ
to each other. These instruments are Surveys, Observational Study, and
Experimental Research. The seventh week thought us how to gather information
using these research instruments. This is something essential because we really
need this in conducting the task which is making a survey form. And lastly for the
eight week, it thought us about appropriate visual/graphics forms use in research
studies like tables, graphs and charts
Ever since covid-19 strike our world, everything change. We can’t do things that
we normally do. I myself can’t go outside for my social responsibilities. I can’t go
out to see my friends and distance relatives due to quarantines. I’m sure I’m not
the only who adjusted, we all do. We cannot go out without face mask and shield
in order to protect us from the threat of the virus. Public transport looks very
different, with social distancing in place and commuters wearing masks. The small
things that make up our community have changed. No social gatherings, no
community sports, no lingering over brunch with friends at the local café, and
businesses have closed due to the pandemic.
Education as we know it has change. Schools and universities have moved online,
others blending face-to-face with online lectures while me having my modules to
answer. Work has also change due to social distancing. So many of us shifted to
working from home to minimize travelling on public transport and gathering in
groups at the office. Everything has changed Everything is new.
I believe that all of us has its own take in this new normal but the only way we
could do is to adapt. We are put in a situation were everything is forbidden but is
doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the end. Its doesn’t mean that our dreams is
cancelled they are just put on hold. That is why as humans as living organisms we
need to adapt because adaptation is the only way to transform new normal to
new future.
