Jonnel Maristela wrote a reflection for their CTWS class at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Binan Campus. In the reflection, Jonnel discusses having participated in community service projects before and finding them difficult to organize but rewarding to see the positive impact they have on the community. Jonnel learned about different types of community service projects and the steps to carrying out a successful one from class readings.

BSED SS 1-1 CTWS 2 (Saturday, 2pm – 5pm) Activity #2 I had nothing to say or violent reaction about what I read. I learned a lot about the types and examples of community service and steps in a successful community service project. All I can say is that I have experienced community service and being involved in conducting programs for the community. It is difficult but good to conduct a program for the community. It is difficult because you do not know where you will get the money to spend for the program. You will ask the barangay officials for funding for your program. Arrange for the program to be held and buy what you will give to the community. It feels good because you can see in your eyes the pleasure you have brought to the people you have served. And it feels good when you can serve the community even in small things.
