World Economic Forum: Nine “plays” to spark innovation in

Education

Change is always visible in Education, so with this Leaders

should be very innovative in order to better serve the students rather
than to show off to the community that they can adapt to it. Innovations
are neither always necessary nor prescriptive but it is inevitable that
is why it is very critical for leaders to be good stewards of this
change. This nine “plays” to spark innovation in Education tell us on
how to be in the situation wherein as an Educator which should not focus
on what the community should think but how we can help the honing of our
students. These are my own implications for the following sparking keys
in the innovation of Education;

1. Provide a compelling vision of the future. As an Educator this play

did not see the situation in general rather it focuses on what is
visible. Systems stay stable because of the students that we have,
stakeholders are just an auxiliary to it, and so they should help
hand on hand. Leaders should ideate necessary innovations that will
demonstrate equal hold for the better change of the internal and
external stakeholders of Education. What is the real problem why
others think that the system serves the stakeholders more? Maybe
because the maker of the innovations did not see the situations in
the field that is why Educators should be the stewards of that
change, what may be the implications of the community will fall
back to them.

2. Set ambitious goals that force innovation. Forcing innovations even

it is not necessary will not create a better outcomes. In goal
setting the first thinks to consider if it is realistic and can be
attained. Writers of it are very idealistic that they not even
notice that the implementer is the one who suffer the most.

3. Create choice and competition. The best part of competition is that

through it we discover what we are capable of and how much we can
actually do what is possible. Competitions come with the
responsibility when it comes to affectivity of it. Equity, it is
hard to get the same value as efficiency, let us be realistic that
nothing can be done equally especially in Education. In
competition, one may exceed to others and vice versa.

4. Pick many winners. It is true. You can finally set standards if

there is a consensus to it. There should be bases in setting up the
standard truths.

5. Benchmark and track progress. There will always be room for

improvement. There is no such thing as PERFECT but learning from
IMPERFECTION will lead us to better outcomes. Collecting best data
will really create a BEST innovation in Education.

6. Evaluate and share the performance of new innovation. Transparency

is the key to show a quality performance. What is the sense of just
creating a heresy data? To show off that they are the best
implementer? When the innovations are doing good we can create a
better change afterwards until we reach the BEST innovations.
Practice more and it will be near to perfection.

7. Combine greater accountability and autonomy. This is somehow

applicable to bigger institution thus it also have negative impact
when it comes to having a systematize rules and regulations. Being
accountable to the practices promulgated requires good transparent
feed backing and data analysing.

8. Invest in and empower agents of change. Change is inevitable that

is why we should always be prepared to it. That is why the system
is providing as various ways for us to have a career growth and
development not only for our own sake but also for our students. We
should not be left behind when it comes to innovations of policies
and programs.

9. Reward success and productive failure. Rewards are very effective

even to a child, same with the leaders and educators they will give
their best when their works are being credited. It is very
rewarding when you succeed but of course it is more rewarding if
your failure will be productive through learning from it.

These sparking keys are very idealistic and will surely create a
great impact to the system if all of these ideas will be put into
ACTION. Leaders, educators, student and stakeholders should work hand
on hand.
