Laboratory Personnel
Training for laboratory personnel is accomplished through previous experience and training. All training
is documented and maintained in the HR department.

Laboratory Gage Identification and Storage

Gages are typically entered into the Delux Gage software at the time of receipt. Gages are given a unique
gage number, calibrated, given a calibration frequency as outlined in the PPAP document(s) and
distributed to the intended work area. Note: Calibration frequency/interval is subject to change based
upon frequency/type of use.

When gages are to be stored for a period of time, either when initially received or removed from service,
they are to be stored in the Met Lab or CMM Lab to prevent theft, damage, tampering, or use. Gages that
are removed from service are to have the status set to “Calibrate before use” in the Delux Gage software.

Laboratory Calibration Methods and Standards

In-house calibration of standard gages used for production monitoring is performed according to the
procedures listed under Quality-Training Documents and the job classification “Lab Technician” with
master gages that are traceable to N.I.S.T.

Master gages are calibrated by the appropriate outside calibration vendor(s) to maintain traceability to
N.I.S.T. Calibration masters include, but are not limited to, the following:

 Gage blocks

 OD setting disks

 ID setting rings

 Test weights

Outside calibration vendors will either (a) be accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 or (b) have documented
evidence of customer acceptance as set forth in the Quality Policy Manual section 7.1.5.3
