Journal Reflection ( Final Written Exam )

Because of rhythmic activities…

1. I learned and discovered that


a. (rhythm and dance) I learned that rhythm was a move we usually do to create a dance or
dance cannot be created without this rhythm. I observed that this rhythm and dance will
never be missed out in a PE lesson, since high school our PE teachers teach us about this
rhythm and dance. I learned about the locomotor which means a movement that make a
person move from one place to another and non-locomotor dance which is a reciprocal of a
locomotor dance, the movement here is just in your place and you are not allowed to move
to another place. Even though before I learned that dancing has a benefit in our health but
this activity reminded me again about this.
b. I learned that hip-hop dance was a dance about street style dances. The locomotor and non-
locomotor dance will now be applied here but in a difficult movement. I discovered that in
dancing hip-hop it is really hard if there is no choreographer since the movements is quite
not easy to build. I also discovered that hip-hop was a dance using our full strength and
energy that in the first day or second day of dancing you will get a pain in some parts of your
body. But I learned and realized that in all of the rhythmic activities hip-hop was my favorite
and I really enjoyed dancing it because my capability to dance was being challenged.
c. ( folk dance ) I learned that folkdance was really hard for me because even though it is not
really hard to dance but the gracefulness of the dancer or the way he portrays the dance
was quite difficult. And I learned that in every folkdance it should be by pair. I observed that
in folkdance the pair should have a connection to each other.
d. ( social dance) I learned that social dance which include the line dance was those dances
that usually uses the footwork. Now I already know what kind of dance those like cha-cha
the Macarena and etc., at first when I watched the videos on YouTube about line dances I
think it was hard to dance since it primarily uses the foot but when I try to practice I
observed that it was easy since the counts is just 32 count and then the steps are just
repeatedly until the end of the music.
2. I had difficulties in choosing a song especially in hip-hop, because as far as I know hip-hop music
was mostly remix and I don’t know how to remix a music. And also in finding a partner for
folkdance it was quite difficult for me since my parents are strict and I’m not always allowed to
go out in our home because of the pandemic.
3. But I handle it through some ways just like the music in my hip-hop I remix it by just like editing
a video and then just extracted the music when I already editing my dance video. And in my
partner in folkdance I ask for help with friends, I ask them to go here in our house for helping
me in my folkdance and I am so thankful that they are free to help. They are the best friends I
had.
4. I build a good trait / characters in this rhythmic activities just like putting so much effort in an
activity, being independent, and being so creative. I really put so much effort in my activities
especially making steps, finding music and on how I will dance it properly because before when I
dance I usually depend on our trainor. The next is being independent in such a way that dancing
on my own, making steps on my own and editing my videos on my own, I am so happy to learn
being independent in dancing. And being creative in a way that I will look presentable in my
video that Is why I usually put some things to make my video nice, and in my hip-hop I put make
up on my face so that the power I had with my dance will be match with the look I have.
5. I realized that rhythmic activities were really fun and enjoyable. I learned and experience the
different kind of dances on my own and I consider it as an achievement in my life. This online
learning really put me in a situation that my mental health sometimes is not really good but
thanks to this subject and to its activities for I enjoyed it. And also in practicing my dances I am
really happy to see my sweat because I know this is a help in my health. I realized that rhythmic
activities were quite difficult if you just see it but when you try to dance you surely love it.
