PHYSICS
1. A conductor of length 'L' is connected to a dc source of potential difference 'V'. If length is doubled by
keeping V constant, how is the drift speed be affected?
2. A battery of emf 3V and internal resistance 0.2 Ù is being charged by a current of 6 A. What is the potential
difference between the terminals of the battery?
3. Define an electric line of force. Draw its sketch for an electric dipole. State any of its two properties.
4. Derive an expression for the Electric potential at an arbitrary point due to an electric dipole. Hence discuss
the axial and equatorial case.
5. Derive a relation between electric current and drift velocity. Hence deduce Ohm's Law. Hence obtain the
expression for resistivity in terms of number density of free electrons and relaxation time.
6. Define mobility of a charge carrier. A potential difference of 6V is applied across a conductor of length
0.12 m . Calculate the drift speed of electrons if the electron mobility is 5.6 × 10-6 m2 V-1 s-1 .
7. Obtain an expression for torque experienced by an electric dipole in an external electric field.
8. a) Without using Gauss Law, obtain the expression for electric field at a point at distance 'y' from an infinite
long straight charged wire having linear charge density ë.
b ) Use Gauss Law to find Electric field at a point near uniformly charged infinite plane sheet.
9. Obtain Wheatstone Bridge condition and show how it applies to Metre Bridge for finding unknown
resistances.
10. Derive an expression for capacitance of a parallel plate capacitor with a dielectric slab inserted in it.
11. Obtain an expression for Electric potential due to a point charge at an arbitrary point. Discuss the axial and
equatorial cases.
12. The force experienced by a unit charge when placed at a distance of 0.10 m from the middle of an electric
dipole on its axial line is 0.025 N. When it is placed at a distance of 0.2 m , the force becomes 0.002 N.
Calculate the dipole length ( It's not negligible compared to the distance involved).
13. Make a project of “Wheat stone bridge”.

What a mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve !
Vacations are a welcome move ! But merely enjoying them should not be the purpose. Utilize them to conceive
and create something constructive amidst such destructive scenario. The activities listed below shall aid you in
achieving the objective.
Activity 01: You are a reporter working for a prestigious newspaper. You have been assigned a task of
interviewing people from different age groups.
I age group: Children (5-10 years)
II age group: Adolescents (13- 18 years)
III age group: Adults (21-25 years)
The questions asked should be related to their observations and learnings during the COVID19 pandemic. After
interviewing them and reading their mindset, prepare a report to be published in your newspaper. Take
photographs while interviewing the people and prepare a collage of the same. Use a scrap book to make your
efforts presentable.
Activity 02: During such critical times of the pandemic, acts of benevolence are being witnessed in every nook
and corner of the country. People and personalities are contributing their bit in every possible manner. Write an
article depicting such benevolent acts. The content should reflect
authenticated deeds and every factual detail should be encapsulated in the article penned by you.
Activity 03: A nation belongs to posterity. Whatever is happening today shall have repercussions. Without
being prejudice, analyze the methods (along with their efficacy) adopted by countries to combat against
COVID19 pandemic. The countries, for analysis, are allotted as per the roll numbers.
Odd roll numbers: Oceania countries. Even roll numbers: Countries in Indian sub-continent.
Supporting your analysis with the help of graphs, charts and tables shall enhance your presentation quotient.
Activity 04: Reading enhances vision and ,of course , solidifies vocabulary and builds the vital power of
expression. Read the next proses like The Enemy; The Rattrap just to name a few.
