Task Q1: What is HR management? Why is it important to have an HR department in an


organization? What are the issues/problem an organisation wil facwe if they don’t have a Hr
department?

Task Q1 Solution :

HRM refers to the management of all decisions that are related to people within the organization. HRM
focuses on improving employee engagement and productivity which automatically contribute to the growth of
the organization and which helps to achieve the organization's objective.
Traditionally HR focused on hiring, firing, and the annual pay review but recently the role of HR in the
organization has been positively reframed and now covers a much wider remit.
Basic functions of HR include:
 Recruitment
 Onboarding
 managing payroll
 Training and development
 safety compliance
More than this HR plays an important role in developing positive business culture and improving engagement
and productivity. Taking care of employee wellness and personal development is also an important role of
HR.
In this pandemic, we can really feel the importance of HR in any organization. Now a day everyone is
working from home in online mode, due to economic uncertainty and workloads mental health of employee
would be impacted, so it’s role of HR to communicate with those employees and try to make things normal
If an organization doesn't have an HR department then it would face lots of challenges:-

Difficulty in attracting top talent: - Due to the absence of an HR department makes it difficult for the
organization to attract top talent for recruitment, hence the quality and productivity of the employees
decreased.

Failure to address performance issues:-monitoring performance of an employee so that they can achieve
the organization goals. If they are unable to do so then it's role of HR to guide and motivate them so they
work effectively.

Maintaining an ethical environment: - Hr has the power to influence the company culture. Open
communication is essential to maintaining an environment that promotes ethical behaviour such as justice and
treatment.

High turnover rate: - Without the HR department, employee dissatisfaction could go unnoticed. As a result,
the employee will lose their interest in a particular company and might start thinking to change the
organization

Task Q2: What are the functions of HR Department? How does the HR department create the
value of the amount spent on them?

Task Q2 Solution : HRM is one of the major department for any organization. All the world which are
related to people is done or looked by the HR department.

Functions of the HR department includes:=


1. HR Planning:- The first HR department function is all about knowing the future needs of the organization,
What kinds of employees they need, and how many? After knowing this the Hr department set the criteria and
eligibility for the recruitment process and selection and all.

2. Recruitment and selection: - This function involves attracting people to work for the organization and
selecting the best candidates, who can work effectively. Once candidates apply selection process is an HR
department instrument to pick the best qualified and highest potential candidates

3. Performance management:- This function is essential to ensure that workers stay engaged and productive.
Good performance management involves good leadership, clear goal-setting, and open feedback.
performance management include the annual review, in which the employee is reviewed by the manager, and

360 degrees feedback tools in which employees are reviewed by their peers, managers, sometimes even
customers

4. Learning and development:-Enabling employees to develop the skills they need for the future is a
significant responsibility of HR. learning various skills which is going to be very essential to work in any
companies.

5. Rewards: - Giving rewards for their hard-working and dedication towards the organization is one of the
functions of good HR. These types of incentives motivate the employee and also increase productiveness
which would helpful for the organization to achieve the goals

There are some other functions of HR:-


 employee participation and communication
 Industrial relation
 Health and safety
 person wellbeing

A primary way HR add value to a company by motivating workers to perform at the highest level possible
and maintain organizational culture. As we know today's Hr is one of the important department for any
companies. HR department makes sure employees engagement and effectiveness.
There are many ways where Hr adds value to a company whether by monitoring the performance of the
employee or by recruiting top talented candidates and also try to retain them. They also have to manage with
different different types of rules and regulations of different palaces or you can say Hr department has also
look work-related lawsuits. HR department also keep a close relationship with bottom line management.

Task Q3: What are the roles and responsibilities that you think personally you can handle in
a HR Department?

Task Q3 Solution :

HR is one of the important department for any organization that wants profitability. Important
resources of any company’s i.e Human taken cared by the HR department.

If I am in HR department then my role and responsibility as a HR in an organization includes:-

 I recruit those candidates whose skills are matching with the organization requirement. At
the time of Onboarding, it's my responsibility as a HR to give complete information to my
candidates about their works as well as about the organization.
 For the growth of any organization, we need such types of work environment where the
employee will going to work efficiently without any work stress environment. IF the
organization will provide a happy office environment then the productivity of the employee
will automatically increase.
 I personally think `i can resolve my team problem on any topic by communicating to them
individually or in a group. It's the responsibility of HR to maintain good relation with their
team so that they feel motivates.
 IF an employee trying his best but is unable to match with the level of organization. so it's my
responsibility as an HR to help that particular employee and try to figure out where he is
facing a problem and try my best to solve that

Task Q4 : List down your skills that you think can be used in dealing with people and
becoming an effective HR Manager

Task Q4 Solution :

As a Manager, there were various skills needed for dealing with people and becoming an effective
HR manager, but I listed some of the skills:-

1. Planning skills:- This skill is a vital aspect within an organization to determines the
effectiveness of HR managers. It is the process of formulating a set of actions within limits of the
available resources such as money, time to achieve certain goals or objectives of the organization.
the planning process includes setting achievable goals, developing necessary strategy and

outlining the tasks and schedule on how to achieve the goals.

2. Decision-making skills: - From the perspective of HR manager various decisions I will take for
the betterment of the organization and also will going to affect the management system. If I use
these decision-making skills rightly then the result is in the favour of the organization while the poor
or bad decision may lead to failure or poor performance of organization.. to run the organization
effectively and smoothly, clear and right decisions should be made. A good manager possesses
great decision-making skills as it shows to achieve the organisational objective successfully.

3. Communication skill: - Possessing great communication skills is crucial for a manager. It can
determine how well the information is shared among the team. How well a manager communicates
with his team and how team following his information. Clearly, communication with a team allows
the manager to collaborate with the team, prevent conflict and resolve issues as they arise. A
manager with good communication skill will connect nicely with employees which is helpful in
achieving the company's sets goals and object easily.

4. Problem-solving skill: - Problem-solving is another essential skill for an effective HR manager.


A good manager must have the ability to tackle and solve the frequent problem that can arise in a
typical workday. Problem-solving in management involves identifying a certain problem or situation
and finding the best way to handle the problem
