Dear Managers,

ASSESSMENT OF LABORATORY PREPAREDNESS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF

INFECTIOUS DISEASES

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the call for decentralization of the testing procedures,
the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS) Virology Panel has been tasked
to assess the resource levels and preparedness of staff at the Regional and District levels.

This information will help the Association to make the right recommendations and also put us in a
better position to combat any outbreak or epidemic that may occur in future.

We, therefore, urge all Laboratory Managers to cooperate fully and provide responses timeously to
enable us put the various laboratories in a state of readiness.
