Q1 : What is the effect of increasing the controller gain on the settling time and the
system overshoot ?
❖ As the controller gain increases the system settling time decreases and the system
overshoot increasing.

Q2 : What is the MATLAB toolbox that is used for the identification process ?
❖ Ident.

Q3 : What is the best order selection of the system in your experiment and explain
why?
❖ 2nd order, as I need to comprimise between best fitting percentage and lowest order, 1st
order has low fitting percentage, 2nd order has high fitting percentage, 3rd order has the
highest fitting percentage but to make a design I need to neglect one pole so the system
becomes more complex for designing.

Q4 : What is the effect of increasing the sampling time on the poles locations ?
❖ Increasing sampling time moves the system poles towards origin as Z = 𝒆−𝑺𝑻

Q5 : What is the function of the data acquistion card in the real-time experimental
setup ?
❖ The data acquisition card function is to measure the real time system signals then
provides the required signal conditioning circuits to convert the continuous signals to
digital data which we can use in our MATLAB model.
