Procedure
Directions: Step 1: The teacher presents in 14 slides The Spring Traditions and
Customs in Bulgaria in a Nearpod.
During the presentation some students share with the class if they
are familiar with the customs and if their family keeps these
traditions.
The teacher summarizes that these holidays always happen around
The Spring Equinox. Some of these traditions are the Easter fasting
and the customs preceding it, some Name Days connected with
horse-riding demonstrations. There are also rituals, performed only
by men and boys, to frighten the evil spirits away. Other traditions
are performed only by young unmarried girls before Easter, more
mentioned holidays are Palm’s Day, Easter and St. George’s Day.
The students are sked what is typical for each of the holidays?
 Step 2: The students play and interactive game in Nearpod: Time to
climb which consist of 10 questions.
Finally the students answer if they enjoyed the whole experience.

Evaluation The students are sked if they have learned a lot of new information
and the Game statistics are discussed.
