COVID....teaching in a online enviornment (March 2020-June 2021) has greatly impacted both
lecture and placement opportunities as well as relationships with students

Revised program standards....differing focus on inclusion, family and indigenous content spread
throughout the program...new courses and outlines across B101 and B820

Reduced contact with child care programs as a result of COVID

Field site classroom established at David Maxwell School...ran for 6 weeks until COVID, consider
ways to reestablished connections with new principal and kindergarten team

-this pandemic has demonstrated the need for connections and relationships with the
students...finding the balance about how much to give without burning out is a challenge for me

Standard I: Caring and Responsive Relationships

Strength:
This past 1.5 year has demonstrated the importance of the relationships with the students, as
well as relationships within faculty group. Definite strengths were noted in the students who put
themselves out there for relationships.

Learning Interests:
Continue strategies to create relationships with students. Continue work with online ECE Club
especially around Mentor program.

I will be teaching curriculum courses moving forward, and my understanding of observation will fit
well with this.

Revamping curriculum courses around emergent concepts. Also including inclusion and
indigenous content within these courses as well.

Standard III: Safety, Health and Well-Being in the Learning Environment

Strength: Work in field site classroom was a great way for the students to experience creating a
safe and inviting classroom.
