Legends: Tandag City is a coastal component city in the

Retail Function province of Surigao del Sur. It serves as the provincial capital.

Industrial Function The city has a land area of 291.73 square kilometers or
112.64 square miles which constitutes 5.91% of Surigao del
Residential Function Sur's total area. Its population as determined by the 2015
Census was 56,364. This represented 9.52% of the total
population of Surigao del Sur province, or 2.17% of the
overall population of the Caraga region. Based on these
figures, the population density is computed at 193 inhabitants
per square kilometer or 500 inhabitants per square mile.
Tandag City has its retail function,
there are several markets that is
situated in the city, such as: Fast
food Industry (Jollibee, Mang
Inasal) Convenience Store’s, Coca-
cola Company, RC Cola Company,
Malls, Banks, and even small markets that also contribute to the economy of the
city.
Tandag City is know in the Agricultural industry (rice,crops,corn,coconut)
however, the production of many rice mills makes the city boost its economy. Also,
the public utility company an
organization that maintains the
infrastructure for a publicservice.
The resedential fuction in the city
was situated in the center of
Tandag City. Most people lived in
the center of the city. Also some of
the resendential function are
located in some barangays, it is
along the Tandag river where
people lived.
 Tandag City improved its economy through the help of agriculture, basically the land area
in the agricultural sites is much more expensive than the hilly areas. On the other hand, in the
center of the city, where most of the resedential and retail function are located and also much more
expensive with the value of land. The area in the center of city, has improved its archetictures,
system and better drainage. These might be an strategy, that can attract more investors and
businesses to enter in the city.
