The Proposal
Healthcare sector is in dismal state in West Africa. Burkina Faso healthcare delivery infrastructure is also dismal and there is not a single healthcare
facility of international standard.
Dr Shafeeq is a international entrepreneur who is willing to guide the local African entrepreneurs in Healthcare sector. Mr Bokari is one such
individual who is interested in opening a Biomedical facility there under technical guidance of Dr Shafeeq’s international team. There are very few
biomedical related companies in Burkina faso ie Faso IMB, Univers, IST, Biomedicalis etc. Most of these are of very limited scope of activities. None of
these have FULL INTEGRATED SCOPE OF SERVICES
It is proposed to register a new company in Burkina Faso with 3 main shareholders. Investment of 600,000 USD is required. The investor of this
amount will have 75% shares while the local management ie Mr Bokari will get 20% shares (apart from monthly compensation). Dr Shafeeq’s
technical team will have 5% sweat equity and his team will also get a monthly retainer of 5000 USD for whole life cycle of project. Mr Bokhari’s main
role will be on ground day to day management as per advises of Dr Shafeeq and his team. Dr Shafeeq will send few engineers/technicians to BF (on
payroll of newco). They will act as master trainers and liaison with Dr Shafeeq (who will be travelling globally).
Dr Shafeeq has proposed him to open an integrated facility in ONE single building (on any main road) in the capital city. This building should have 25
to 30,000 sq ft space available. Multiple biomedical related businesses could be done in the same building.
On ground floor, there should be a modern, elegant show room of imported (new and old refurbished equipment). We will also get distributorship of
various international brands from EU/UK/Canada/USA etc gradually over several years. Local and regional customers will be entertained in a very
professional manner. We will start with import and refurbishing of simple items initially ie beds, trolleys, IV pumps, ECG machines and later X ray
and ultrasound machines etc. In future, we will also venture into CT/MRI machine business also.
Proposal…cont
A biomedical school will also be established with 50 students per batch. This will offer various certificate courses and diplomas (and even a degree
program later) in affiliation with local universities. On-line international exams tuition will also be provided there.
A biomedical workshop will also be opened in which imported used machinery will be refurbished. This will involve calibration, optimization, repair,
repackaging etc. We will also provide on-site services including repair, PPM , installation, trainings etc. The biomedical school will provide free work
force (infact paying work force to the workshop). The alumni will become our strength in future and the network of our graduates will also promote our
business
In future, we can even start our own equipment REAGENT RENTAL or PLACEMENT Services. This is hugely profitable in which we will import and refurbish
the equipment and place it in different hospital (with our on-site staff) without any down payment but we will charge on per patient or fees for service
basis.
The project will start by end of first year and will reach breakeven within few months. Investment of 600,000 USD is required over one year period,
however, it is prudent to have this amount in newco account from day 1 to avoid cash flow problems in future.
This project will be of top quality. Instead of 600,000 USD, this project could be done in just 6000 USD but then it will be low (or no quality) and Dr
Shafeeq’s team will not be interested in any third class quality work. We only want to execute the project as per INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS. This could
be a game changer for biomedical field for whole region. This will be FIRST international operated biomedical center. This is very profitable to the
investor ie more than 40% per year on one time investment of only 600,000 USD. This is not only profitable but also scalable, ethical, strategic need of
Burkina Faso and safe traditional project. We can add full medical eco-system around this project later ie hospitals, clinics, medical school etc in future.
The investor will be silent partner
