enhanced perspective.

My Analysis
1. Which principle/s of learning was/were most applied?

The principles of learning that were most applied is the “Learning is an active process. “
Throughout the discussion he asked his students ideas and understanding and he also
let his students to participate and actively engage in the learning process. And I believe,
this principle must be applied in the discussion to maintain the presence and interest of
the students and to preserve the fun learning experience.

2. Which principle of learning was/were least applied?

Base on the video, the Principle that least applied is the “Effective learning begins with
the setting of clear and high expectations and learning outcomes”.
The teacher didn’t mentioned the learning objectives. Maybe the moment that he
discussed the learning objectives was not captured by the video record, because the
video started already on the energizer part.

3. How did the application of these learning principles affect learning?

The learning principles have a huge impact on the effectiveness of the learning process.
If all these principles were applied, they can achieved the fun and effective learning
process and met the learning objectives. While if not, it will cause to lack of interest,
expectations on what they should be able to learn.
4. How did the non-application of these learning principles affect learning?
The non application of these principles will lead to lack of interest, and fun learning
experience. The students will less interested on the discussion because they will not feel
that they are involved in Learning process.
5. Do you agree with these principles of learning? Or have you discovered that they are no
always correct?
With these 4 learning principles, yes I Agree. I don’t think that these principles are not
always correct, they are correct, maybe there are times that these principles are not
applicable, depending on the situation.

Guiding Principles Related to Lesson Teaching Behavior/s which Prove/s
Objectives/Intended Learning Outcomes Observance of the Guiding Principle
1. Begin with the end in mind. 1. e.g. The Resource Teacher began her
lesson by stating her objective.

2. Share lesson objective with students.

My Analysis
Why is it sound teaching practice for a teacher to “begin with the end in mind” and to share
his/her lesson objectives or intended learning outcomes with his/her students?

Kendall’s and Marzano’s Domains of Knowledge

Concrete Example/s for each Domain of

Knowledge from my Observation (What did
Domain of Knowledge
your Teacher teach? What was the focus of
your Teacher’s lessons?)
1. Cognitive Domain – Information
(Declarative Knowledge) – Vocabulary,
terms, facts, concepts, principle,
hypothesis, theory
2. Mental Procedures (Procedural
Knowledge) – e.g. mental skills such as
writing a paragraph

Bloom’s Domain of Learning Activities

Domain of Learning Activities

3. Psychomotor – skills

4. Affective – values, attitudes

My Analysis
1. Were the lessons focused on information / cognitive domain only or mental procedures
only or psychomotor procedures/physical skills only? Or were the lessons combinations
of two or three? Explain your answer.

mental procedures only or psychomotor procedures only. Explain your answer.

My Reflections
Based on your observations in class and on your understanding of the domains of
knowledge and learning activities from Bloom, Kendall and Marzano, how can you make your
teaching-learning activity more meaningful and more relevant? Is lesson more relevant when
you teach only in the cognitive or when you teach in the cognitive domain combined with the
affective or psychomotor combined with the affective?
