Beliefs/ Philosophy

a. Jack Ma – He believes that putting customers first, employees second, and

shareholders third is the correct mindset. Customers provide revenue for the
organization, and employees are the ones that drive innovation. He noted that
several of the persons who bought shares before the IPO and stated that they
would be long-term investors were also the first to sell when conditions got
tough. Customers and employees, on the other hand, remained.

b. Ka Rey Herrera - "Hard to believe, but testimonial speaks for itself." He made
things impossible to possible. He doesn’t lose his faith even he is near to
death.

c. Henry Sy - Traditional Confucian ideals of hard effort, frugality, discipline,

love of study, self-sacrifice for the prosperity of the family, and harmonious
social relationships have been upheld by Henry Sy. “The SM business model
is based on hard effort, attention, drive, and the willingness to take chances
and make bold decisions,” he explained. This set of principles and basic
beliefs guides us.”

d. Tony Tan Caktiong - Even before he has no plan of making a big company, at
the back of his mind, he has this dream of “trying to dream big.” “Let’s dream
and then dream big,” he believes that dreams are considered free to do. He
added that while dreaming, we planted our feet in terms of what’s reality also.

2. Attitudes

a. Jack Ma – He wants to go back in teaching. He said, “Teachers always want

their students to exceed them, so the responsible thing to do for me and the
company to do is to let younger, more talented people take over in leadership
roles so that they inherit our mission ‘to make it easy to do business
anywhere.” We have the same attitude of Jack Ma. I studied before 2011 but I
stopped schooling after I built my own business and earned some money.
However, there is this one part of my heart to go back where I belong, and
that is being a teacher.

b. Ka Rey Herrera – He has this attitude of giving the testimony first before
paying his product. He make sure that he is not only earning money but also
the trust of the people for his product.

c. Henry Sy - In general, Henry can be described in four words: innovative,

diligent, tenacious, and hopeful. The same as what I have experience in life,
Henry has faced numerous challenges and obstacles in his life that, if we
were to face them, we would give up; however, due to his perseverance and
amazing foresight in seeing the good in any bad situation, as well as filtering
through the advice of those around him, Henry is able to feel confident in any
decisions he makes.

d. Tony Tan Caktiong – He doesn’t afraid to commit mistakes. The same as

what I believe in life. I already shared here before about my motto of “Do not
afraid to take chances of everything, just have faith.” He said, “If you dream
big and put your dreams into action you will indefinitely make mistakes. Just
be quick to recognize them and learn from them as fast as you can.

3. By putting all into actions. Words are not enough to be successful in life. You
will only recognize the success in life by starting and continuing what you want to
be. I already have my own business, but I have to continue the things that I have
not done yet. I believe success is not just about business and making money, but
also to share the learning and lessons in life.
