E DIAGNOSIS It can be diagnosed using Blood Test. A blood test


determines the cause of the diarrhea.

Stool Test. A stool test determines the bacterium of


the parasite that may cause the bacteria.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy or Colonoscopy. This test


provides vison on the patient’s lower colon and
allows the doctor to take a tissue sample from the
colon.
F TREATMENT Oral Rehydration Solution. Mixture of electrolytes
and carbohydrates which is dissolved in water to
substitute lost salt and water in the body.

Loperamide. Medicine to treat diarrhea and


irritable bowel syndrome.

Bismuth Subsalicylate. Treats discomfort in the


stomach and relieves upset stomach, diarrhea,
indigestion, and nausea.

Antibiotics.

G PREVENTION Having to drink clean water only


Good sanitation in sewage and waterways
Regular handwashing

H NO OF DAYS BEING Symptoms may last one to two days but may be
SYMPTOMATIC longer.
