B. Kompetensi Dasar

3.1. Menerapkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks interaksi
transaksional lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta
informasi terkait jati diri dan hubungan keluarga, sesuai dengan konteks
penggunaannya. (Perhatikan unsur kebahasaan pronoun: subjective, objective,
possessive).
4.1 Menyusun teks interaksi transaksional lisan dan tulis pendek dan sederhana yang
melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait jati diri, dengan
memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan yang benar dan
sesuai konteks

C. Brief Description
Introduction is an expression of introduction to know one's identity, we need to
introduce ourselves to a clearer communication process with whom we talk, about
what we are talking about and other conditions.
When meeting someone for the first time, we will introduce ourselves to him/her.
Generally we give our name, origin, adress, or phone numbers. On some occasion, we
also have to introduce someone to others because we want to make others know a
person we already know. In this chapter, we will learn expressions commonly used
to introduce oneself and others whether in a formal or informal occasion. Finally,
after studying this chapter you will be able to analyze, comprehend, and practice its
expressions use in your daily life.

D.How to use
In this module, you will practice to be able in asking and giving information related
to self-identity/ self introduction family and others, according to the context in
which they are used.
The following is general instruction as follows;
1. You can learn this module independently or groups, either at school or
outside of school.
2. learn this module by reading, and observing the examples that has been
provided or you can learn by discussing and making an effective discussion
group.
3. Practice yourself by doing and completing the exercises and evaluations in
this module.
4. search the other learning resources such as through videos or internet to
support your comprehension about this material according to the context
5. If there's a problem and you're having trouble, discuss it with your friends
and if you still don't get an answer, you can ask your teacher or other experts.

Introduction chapter in this module will be divided into 3 parts of the lesson which is
consists of lesson activity, excercises, and evaluation.

Human Billboards
Objective: To get participants to learn more about
each other and connect on a personal level
Participants: student
Duration: 15 to 20 minutes
Difficulty: Medium
Materials: One very large piece of paper per
participant, scissors and coloured markers
We love human billboards because it is a self-
disclosure activity that allows participants to
connect on a personal level.
This icebreaker gets the creative juices flowing and
will allow people to unwind.
We recommend using this for teams that don’t
know each other that well, or as a team building
activity for new groups.
Instructions
1. Give everyone in your team a piece of paper
and some coloured markers.
2. Each participant has 6 minutes to use words,
pictures or symbols to describe themselves on the
“billboard”.
3. After the 6 minutes, participants should cut a
hole in the paper and put it over their heads so that
it drapes in front of them.

4. Get everyone to mingle for 6 minutes and ask


each other ice breaker questions about their
billboards so that they can learn more about each
other.
