Overview

Demo of a few capabilities of DesignModeler:

• Geometry creation
– Sketching
– 3D Operation
• Geometry modification

Getting Started – Demo (1)

• Give a short overview of the GUI

• Set Units to mm
• Draw a rectangle (50mm x 50mm) in the
x-y plane
– Explain the constraints in this process

• Include dimensions
• Extrude the sketch in positive z-direction
(15mm)

Getting Started – Demo (2)

• Create a new plane on the top side

of the block
– X-Offset = -25mm
– Y-Offset = 25mm

• Draw a circle on the y-axis

(d=12mm). The center is 10mm
away from the x-axis
• Draw a rectangle on the circle line
(15mm x 8mm)
• Include a symmetry constraint

Getting Started – Demo (3)

• Trim the sketch and cut the

material to get the geometry on
the right
• Define radius blends (4mm) on the
upper edges of the block
• Define radius blends (2mm) on the
inner edges of the keyhole
