My name is Paul Mahon. I am a Senior, currently enrolled in the K-12 Education program at the University of
Tampa. I am submitting my resume and application for the position of ____________. I am pursuing my
degree in Physical Education because I strive to lead an impact on today’s youth population. As we experience
challenging times in the world today, my goal is to guide the next generation in the right direction. I am
interested in finding new ways to create excitement in a school setting and make sure students leave the
classroom with a positive attitude and improved outlook on life. I hope to spread my knowledge of team
sports, physical activity, and life experience to others in a positive way.

I completed my freshman year of college at Keene State College (NH), with a major in Physical Education.
While attending Keene State, I volunteered as a teacher and basketball instructor at a local youth center in the
area. In addition to that, I also have experience with elementary-age students through coaching various youth
sports camps and teams in my home state of Massachusetts. In most recent years, I have been fortunate enough
to work for a Montessori school in Tampa, Florida as a P.E. teacher, and lunch/recess monitor, as well as
fulfilling a substitute teacher role in Franklin, Massachusetts. After taking several teaching courses at The
University of Tampa, I can definitely say that I have grown my passion for teaching and coaching a great
amount since entering college. I believe these experiences and opportunities have helped enhance my
knowledge in the field and have added new material and strategies to my teaching style as well.

My overall vision is to eventually transition to a school guidance counselor after gathering more experience in
a school setting and earning my Master’s degree. I look forward to all teaching opportunities that I come
across. I am a hard-working person and leader who has a great drive for improvement in whatever I set my
