Overall, it can be seen that S1 is located in
the northwest outskirts, whereas S2 is
situated in the heart of the town. Both sites
can be compared in terms of relative distance
to other areas and the transportation system
around them.

Describe distance
Housing
S1 near the northwest housing area
S2: surrounded by housing
Industry
S1: far from both/ near the north
S2: close to the one in the south
Skill Development – Body 1
In more details, S1 is within
reach of the housing area of the
town, but is of considerable
distance from the industry zone
located in the south. S2 is also
close to the residential area
which surrounds the town
centre. There is another
industrial area which is directly
to the south of S2.
Skill Development – Body 2
Describe the transport system
Railway
Passes by both S1 and S2
Connects Hindon & Cransdon
Main roads
S1: close to the road connecting
town center and Hindon
S2: traffic-free zone = no traffic
Skill Development – Body 2
S1 lies near the main road from
Garlson to Hindon, while there
are three main roads
connecting the town centre
with Hindon, Bransdon and
Cransdon. However, there is a
traffic-free zone, so there is no
access to S2 by car. Both sites
are close to the railway system
which runs through Garlsdon
from Hindon to Cransdon.

are two rows of shops running along
both sides of the main road. While the
one to the north of the pedestrian
street will be replace by a bus station, a
shopping centre, a car park, and a new
residential area, the one to the south is
expected to remain unchanged. In
addition, the car park located in

Regarding the transport infrastructure,
the current Islip town centre has a
main road connecting the western and
the eastern part of the area, along with
two paths leading to the school and the
park. In the future, however, this main
road is planned to be replaced by a
dual carriageway which circles the
town centre, with a traffic-free running
through the middle of it.

The diagram shows the

life cycle of the honey
bee.
Skill Development - Intro Paraphrasing

The diagram shows the life cycle of the honey bee.

 The diagram highlights the stages involved in the

life cycle of a honeybee.
Skill Development - Overview

Overall, it can be seen that the average cycle

lasts from 34 to 36 days. There are five main
stages in this process, including the laying of
eggs and the maturity of the bees.
Skill Development – Body 1

The cycle begins when the adult

female bee lays an egg. Typically,
every three days the females lay from
1 to 2 eggs, which will then hatch
between day 9 and day 10. An
immature insect, or a so-called
“nympth”, makes its appearance.
Skill Development – Body 2

At the third step of the process, the

nympth grows bigger in size and
moults for the first time 5 days later,
and then the second time on the
next 7th day. The nympth sheds its
skin for the last time 9 days after that
before emerging to become a young
adult honey bee. It takes 4 days for
the young bee to reach the full
maturity stage and the process can
now be repeated.
