Specific Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
 Explain the importance of festival in the country;
 Classify the festivals in the country through a table organizer; and
 Show awareness how festivals improve one’s fitness.

II. SUBJECT-MATTER:
Topic: WHY FESTIVALS?
Reference: Learner’s Module pages 177-178
Materials: LCD Projector, Video Clip, Laptop, Speaker, etc.

III. PROCEDURE:

A. Routinary Activities:
- Class Prayer
- Greeting
- Checking of Attendance
- Class Rules (optional)

B. Review/Wam-up
Ask the students to recall the previous lesson through the different basic dance steps of
“Tinikling”. This will also serve as their warm-up. Let them perform each step below by
16 counts each following the rhythm/timing of the music. The repeat twice.

C. Motivation:
Directions: Present a slideshow of the different festivals in the Philippines. Try to ask
the students to identify the place of origin of each festivals.
