Financial Reports and Statistics

FAR Side Journey Incorporated, is a registered 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization working to

fulfill our mission to create a foster, adoption and rescue network so that no owner-relinquished
or stray animal has to be held in a municipal shelter awaiting adoption or potential euthanasia
due to overcrowded conditions. Our focus is on senior, medical and special needs companion
animals. Our vision is to see the day that municipal animal shelters no longer have to euthanize
any adoptable companion animals. We depend on the generous support from people like you in
our community to help the animals and to provide programs and services to enhance the bond
between people and their pets. We believe in transparency and we are committed to making
public our financial information and animal statistics.

Animal Statistics

We believe in transparency and make available our animal intake and outcome statistics. Intake
means all animals that come into the rescue as strays, from municipal shelters and other
transfers, owner surrenders, and as feral/wildlife. Positive Outcome means all animals that
leave the rescue through adoption, transfer, and returned to owner and in the case of feral
animals placement in a barn cat or community cat program. Other Outcome means animals
that failed to thrive and died in our care, died from an accident, illness, or were euthanized due
to medical reasons or behavioral reasons. Note that we are a no-kill organization and we ONLY
euthanize animals that are suffering and a veterinarian has recommended humane euthanasia.
Or, very rarely, an animal that has attacked another animal or a human while in our care and is
deemed unable to rehabilitate or manage. We have only had to euthanize one animal in our
care due to a behavioral issue and we hope that we never have to euthanize another one for
the same type of issue.
