Research Design

This study determined the attitude of Grade 12 Stem netizens towards their academic performance in
Oton National High School. Descriptive research design will be used in this study. It is the appropriate
design for this study because it helps in describing the real status of Grade 12 STEM netizens about their
attitude in their academic performance as it happens at the time of the research to understand the
causes of particular occurrence.

According to Gay(1992:217), descriptive research involves collecting data in order to test hypotheses or
to answer questions concerning the current status of the subject of the study. It determines and reports
the way things are and describes about event, phenomena or fact systematically dealing with certain
area or population.

Since this study measured the data that already exist and the number of respondents is not large, the
descriptive method of studies is best suited. Furthermore, this study also utilized processes in analyzing
data using narrative and content analysis.
