Mr. Naik,
I excel in real time visual simulation creation, whether for a training simulator or a study
simulator. I have been critically involved in two of the pivotal moments in real time simulation history.
While at CG2, in 2001, I was integral to the creation of and launching the 3D facets library which was first
to create asset levels of detail (LOD) based on the Johnson Criteria 1,2 of Detection, Recognition and
Identification, now commonly used a best practice across the industry. Now at General Motors in 2017, I
advised and aided in the creation of the world’s first real time research and development 360 o driving
simulator that incorporated true 4K graphics 3. With high definition databases, associated assets and
scripts, I created, validated and verified completely immersive synthetic environments for researchers to
improve subjective rating of fidelity and objective performance measures.
I have recently been working with human/machine interface (HMI) studies heavily
related to autonomous vehicle controls and functionality. In the past, I have worked simulating
lidar, radar and night vision sensor visualization for HMI, hardware in the loop (HIL) simulation
and training. I have worked on augmented/virtual reality platforms, fully immersive, partial
platform, desktop simulators, constructive simulations and live exercise simulations, such as
Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT) sites.
At General Motors Research and Development, I have become accustomed to the
slower learn and innovate atmosphere. However, I do remember the deadline driven work
atmosphere that I’ve pursued most of my career in. I’ve found that I can work equally well in
both. My work excels as part of a small team or individually as needs dictate. I have also
managed my own small projects and teams as required from time to time and feel confident to
run larger projects and teams just as well.
I have included my curriculum vitae so that you may examine my work and research
experience. I look forward to continuing our conversations via phone. Thank you for your time
and consideration.
Sincerely,
Mike Graham
