lifestyle. Mandatory isolation was implemented to slow the spread of the CoVid-19 in fear of
casualties. The main concern brought up by Manuel Dyrit a former health secretary in 2003, in
an interview by C. Fumbuena of Rappler it is the lack of facility available in the Philippines and
its inability to immediately put up one specifically for the pandemic victims that could
accommodate, isolate and treat them. In one of the data shown by the Department of Health in
(Oct 2020) there are only 66 DOH Hospitals all throughout the country with the 22,773 Total
authorized Bed Capacity in 2020. There are 38 DOH hospitals in Luzon, 12 DOH hospitals in
Visayas and 16 DOH hospitals in Mindanao. In addition to the data the official gazette of the
republic of the Philippines (2015), there are 685 Local Government Unit Hospital and 70 DOH
Hospital, in the past 6 years DOH lost 4 of its hospitals. This data only shows how limited the
nation’s facilities even before the catastrophe begun. As the time pass by pandemic emergency
continues, people begun to see a trend among the countries like India and northern Italy where
lack of hospitals noticeably made a huge impact in their death toll. In an article shown by the
CNA Insider India, a large number of casualties had faced their demise without even
experiencing the proper treatment they need, patients laying on benches, pathways and some
This kind of situation is not new to the Philippines, in one of the news provided by GMA
in 2021 one child who is experiencing sepsis deserted in an ambulance without a proper
equipment caused by hospitals being over crowded with Patients. Another is a man who drove to
11 different hospital to be admitted but unfortunate enough to be rejected with the same reason
of no vacant room for admission. And there are a lot more that has not been shown by the media
experiencing the same scenarios. The solution that the Government has planned since 2015 is to
improve the health care competence throughout the country, to help the nation not just with
covid but for any pandemic that would strike the country. It would also help in lifting the

healthcare capacity of the nation. (Ano ung plan , di mo sinabi specifically kung ano ung plan
since 2015)
With the intensive need of medical on a global scale, the goal of the study is to design a
tertiary hospital that would cater a 100 bed capacity together with a flexible pandemic facility
with applied science in green sustainable tropical architecture in the municipality of Samal,
Bataan. The strategic flow of the project proposal will be as the following objectives:
a. To identify areas needed for a tertiary hospital that would grant accreditation from
medical care in delivering treatment to the patients without delay, good sanitation
a. To study results in suppressing the spread of virus focusing on the past epidemic
viruses like SARS 2003, Meningococcimia, and the current pandemic Covid 19.
Comparing data and solution that has been used and now being used to subdue the
range of virus.
b. To design flexible facility that would help the community of Samal, Bataan in
