Nozzle Allowable Loads
1. Forces and moments shall be applied simultaneously at the connecting flange. Refer to WRC 537 and
WRC 297 for definitions. If the geometry parameters exceed the valid ranges specified in WRC 537
and WRC 297, other applicable evaluation method such as FEA shall be used.
2. If the application of these loads results in an increase in the shell or head thickness beyond a fully
reinforced nozzle, Owner shall be contacted for resolution.
3. Process nozzles larger than NPS 24 (DN 600) shall be investigated on a case-by-case basis.
