1. Why are Engineers considered an important segment of the society?

Engineers use science to find solutions to real-world issues. Engineers use
goods and materials in the design of technological systems, structures, and
transportation systems, as well as in the construction of buildings. Engineers
provide blueprints and plans that are used by builders and manufacturers to
construct structures. Engineering is a significant determinant of our society's form.
Engineers do not just deal with machines, designs, and electronics; they also
utilize mathematics and science to create innovations that change our society and
enhance how we live and work.

2. What are expected of engineers in general?

Engineers are required to do a wide range of duties, the nature of which
varies depending on their level of expertise and position. It is expected that their
interpersonal skills would be their most significant shortcoming for the most of the
time. He or she will need some exposure to engineering management tasks in
order to operate effectively as an engineer manager.

3. In what current concerns are engineering outputs needed?

Engineers are continuously working to address the issues that humanity is
now experiencing, yet they are still held to a high standard. In the following
particular issue areas, their results, whether new or enhanced versions of current
ones, are very essential.

a) Solid waste disposal and material recycling are important considerations.

b) The production of more food to feed a world population that is rapidly

expanding.

c) The provision of energy to meet the rising need

d) Air pollution and water contamination have to be eliminated.

e) Noise reduction in a variety of configurations

f) Meeting the growing need for mobility in the workplace

g) Preventing and solving crimes and other criminal activity

h) Keeping up with the growing need for communication infrastructure

4. In what areas are engineers currently involved?

Engineers work in a variety of fields to assist society, such as research, design and
development, testing, manufacturing and construction business, education, and
management

5. How many organizations s be classified according to the engineering jobs

performed?
Organizations may be classified into three groups based on the amount of
engineering work they do from the engineer's perspective. Level One is jobs that
need just the most basic engineering abilities, such as those in retail. Level Two is
engineering jobs that require just a high school diploma and level three is for
professions that require a high level of engineering knowledge.

6. Which organization level requires the highest management skills for engineer
managers?
The need for management skills will now be felt by the engineer manager.
Level three firms provide the biggest opportunity for an engineer to become the
president or general manager. In this case, the engineer manager cannot function
effectively without adequate management skills.

7. What is engineering management?
Engineering management is the process of integrating technical expertise
with the capacity to organize and coordinate human resources, materials,
equipment, and finances. Another name for it is "project management." When an
engineer is given the responsibility of supervising the work of even a small group
of people, he enters the early phases of engineering management. His main
responsibility is to guide his team in creating a product that satisfies the
specifications.

8. How may one define management?

organizing, directing, and managing an organization's resources in order to
accomplish its goals and objectives" It is the process of creating a strategy and
managing the activities of its workers.

9. What qualifications must an engineer manager have?

• Engineering bachelor's degree from a well-regarded institution is required.
There are some instances where a master's degree in engineering or
business management is necessary.

• a few years of experience working in a pure engineering position.

• training in the area of supervision;

• Engineering management training is provided on an individual basis. The

engineer manager's credentials will vary depending on the sort of products
or services that a company provides.
10. How may one become a successful engineer manager?

Successful engineer managers do not emerge by chance; yet, luck does

play a part in their success. At the very least, there are three broad requirements
for long-term managerial success. These are the following: capacity for
management, motivation for management, and opportunity for management.
