T11) Station black out handling and restoration
for Stage-1 Units

Implementation Date
1. Purpose
Procedure to be followed for Stage – 1 Units handling and restoration during
station blackout condition.
2. Scope
It covers procedure for stage – 1 units handling and restoration during station
black out condition.
3. Prerequisites
Ensure Unit is tripped(GCB OPEN) on station power failure.
APH Manual rotation Handle
TG barring gear handle

5. Procedure
TURBINE SIDE:
Implementation Date
BOILER SIDE:
Give start command to all APH air motors. If Air motor not taking start rush
to the local and with the help of AIR motor energizing solenoid by-pass handle
charge the air to Air motor.
Ensure the rotation of APHs otherwise arrange the man power to rotate
manually with the help of handle as shown in fig-2.( Take help of RM for
manual rotation)
Implementation Date
Close the DG incomer breaker to EMCC after ensuring the open status of
Normal incomer breaker. If it is in closed condition, then trip the breaker
manually from UCB/local.
If EMCC Normal incomer breaker is not tripping , seek EMD help.
Start TGOP , Turning gear motor for Turbine barring.
Implementation Date
Stop DCEOP
If barring gear motor fails to start, main turbine hand barring to be
done.
Start Scanner Air fan-A, APH-A&B auxiliary motors.
Ensure emergency AC lighting on EMCC bus is available. Switch off DC
lighting.
Implementation Date
Tie the all Three units (1,2&3) 6.6KV Unit breakers Tie with station as shown
in the Fig-6.
