INTRODUCTION

When it comes to taking a commercial garment and altering it to improve the fit, the term

"changes" in sewing is frequently used and promoted. The changes can make a dress look

improved couture because of the custom fit to the body type. Hemming with a blind stitch is one

example of a modification. When it comes to taking a commercial garment and altering it to

improve the fit, the term "changes" in sewing is frequently used and promoted. Because of the

custom fit to the body type, the changes can make a dress well made. Hemming with a blind

written is one of the different types of modification.

According to https://thesewingloftblog.com, there are also various types of modifications:

• A blind stitch is used to finish the hem.

• Taking a seam in

• Letting a seam out

• Adding darts to the mix

• To better fit your body type, lengthen or shorten the body of a top.

To make the dress fit your body better, altering a dress with an existing pattern will

include your design elements.

Alternatives include hand sewing with a thread and needle or using a sewing machine at

home to alter a garment or object. The professional foot sewing machine will assist with specific

modifications for a better result and professional appearance. A blind stitch presser foot, for

example, can be used to sew a project so that stitches do not show up on the right side of the

fabric.

According to the PSA, total spending on clothing and footwear reached P36.358 billion

in 2015. In 2014, it was 32.985 billion dollars (Cu, 2016). The data indicates that the amount of

money spent on clothing is increasing. Alteration services will continue in the coming years as

the population expands and expenditure continues. Companies looking to expand their business,

both locally and internationally, will find plenty of opportunities in the country's market. For

foreign retail and fashion companies, the Philippines' market size, population purchasing power,

and increasingly sophisticated taste make it appealing.

CHAPTER II

MARKET STUDY

Product Description

Many people go to thrift stores in the hopes of finding a hidden gem among the jumble of

items on display. Most people are disappointed, not because there aren't any great designs, but

because they see potential snazzy outfits that don't fit them properly.

. Some of your clothes simply don't fit you well. And if you're a fashionista, you'll be

disappointed because you can't get the look you want.

This is something that most individuals, even those who shop at their favorite stores,

regret. Finding an expert tailor who specializes in alteration is a simple solution to all of this. It

can be challenging to locate a competent tailor. You must be familiar with his or her areas of

expertise. When you hire a tailor, you have the opportunity to see the finished product of their

work.

It's also crucial to understand how they sew to understand how the alterations were made

and keep bad sewing jobs to a minimum. Those who experiment with alterations will gain certain

advantages in terms of style, fashion, and budget.

Sewing alteration can find a way to help the community to be resourceful. Further,

alternatives can be performed by hand using a thread and needles or change a garment or object

using a sewing machine. The expert foot sewing machine will help with specific modifications to

achieve a better outcome and professional look. For example, a blind stitch presser foot can help

sew a project so that stitches do not appear on the right side of the fabric. Also, using a sewing

machine can produce the quality of clothes.

One of the expected benefits of clothing alterations is modifying your old clothes and

wearing them once again. Additionally, by taxation, the company providing alteration services

would contribute to the city's continued revenue growth while also helping the community by

providing their clothing

SOCIO-ECONOMIC STUDY
The sewing and alteration shop, which will set up in Purok. Mapagmahal, Brgy. Baluan,

General Santos City, will help improve the economic status of both the owner, workers, and the
18 | P a g e

customers living in the surrounding areas by providing direct employment for laborers, lowering

poverty levels. Furthermore, by taxation, this company would contribute to the city's continued

growth in revenue. Again, this would help the community by providing their needs in clothing.

Since the business needs only a low production cost and minimal labor and can produce a

higher profit, it will attract an interested investor to establish a business in the said location. The

products made in the production would essentially meet the demand for groupers among

customers. Moreover, since the owner will not use any toxic materials, the company will

negatively impact the local community.

CHAPTER VIII

SUMMARY
19 | P a g e

The term "changes" in sewing frequently used to describe changes to a commercial

garment. Because of the custom fit to the body type, the changes can make a dress looks better in

couture. They were altering an existing pattern to include your design elements. Alternatives

include hand sewing with a thread and needle or using a sewing machine.

Sewing alteration can find a way to help the community to be a resource. The expert foot

sewing machine will help with specific modifications to achieve a better outcome and

professional look by taxation. The company that offers alteration services would contribute to the

city's continued growth in revenue and help the community by providing their needs in clothing.

It can be challenging to locate a competent tailor, and you must be familiar with their areas of

expertise.

The typical benefit of clothing alteration is modifying your old clothes and wearing them

once again. Now is the time to bring out that retro-style coat some years ago, but it seemed too

big for you, now is a time to bringing out that thing and alter it.

According to Mrs. Shakira Alcayde, the head of a women's organization in Purok

Mapagmahal, Baluan, General Santos City, there is a growing demand for sewing alterations. In

Purok Mapagmahal, there is no existing sewing alteration, and the people need to go to the other

purok.

Therefore, our team conducted a feasibility study about establishing a sewing alteration

shop in the said place. The proposed location of the sewing alteration shop will be at Purok

Mapagmahal, Baluan, General Santos City, South Cotabato. The ideal site for sewing alteration

requires to be in a location where business establishments exist as well as homes to supply you

with a steady supply of customers, easy to locate, and near in the shops and market. Thus, the

location is appropriate for sewing alteration where customers won't travel great distances for

your services. The business will implement a proposed project on a 100-square-meter rental

building. Cement and other materials will be used to construct it. The company will rent the said

area for 3,000.00 per month and will purchase machines, threads, needles, and other supplies and

materials. There will be suppliers from Manila, Cebu, and Davao if the malls are out of stock.

The shop offers various products and services such as:

• House to house services

20 | P a g e

• Accepting sewing services with a minimum of pieces

• Finish product of clothes, curtains, uniforms, pants, dress, etc.

Alliah Franzys Diamante will own the proposed project, which will run as a sole

proprietorship. She is a Bachelor of Science in Business Management graduate from the

University of the Philippines, Cum Laude. Mr. Alliah is a Certified Public Accountant and an

Entrepreneur. She lives in Baluan, General Santos City, at Purok Mapagmahal. Her family is also

involved in various businesses. She learned about the profitability of sewing and alteration

production through her experience. She was encouraged to invest in the company above. She will

be in charge of managing and supervising the company as the owner-manager. She will be the

one to implement the necessary changes to the company. She will be in charge of negotiating the

business deal with the buyers. Her main goal is to be responsible for maintaining the company's

financial records.

The business will attract an interested investor to establish a business in the said location

because it requires only a low production cost and minimal labor and can produce a higher profit.

Customers' demand for groupers would largely be met by the products made in the production.

Furthermore, the company will negatively impact the local community because the owner will

not use any toxic materials.

CHAPTER IX

CONCLUSION

The business aim of the project is to open a sewing alteration shop in Purok.

Mapagmahal, Baluan, General Santos City, is desperately needed because people have to go

elsewhere to get their clothes altered. It will be cost-effective and attracts the attention of the

target customer. The project's most feasible solution has been chosen, and it is now ready for

further development.
