INDO CANADIAN COMMUNITY CENTRE- WINDSOR

As per the Census statistics of Canada, it has been observed that there is a growth in the
population of Immigrants. Hence, Canada seeks to promote diversity within the population
to uphold the culture. The trend shows the growth of Indians in Canada on Student visas
and Permanent residencies. Based on this foregoing, the Indian High Commission has
commenced a request for proposal for the construction of many Indo-Canadian
Community Centres. The Plan is to build a Community Centre in Windsor.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT

The proposed project is to build an Indo-Canadian Community Centre at 2575 Manning

Rd, Tecumseh, ON N8N 2L9, Windsor, Canada. The main objective of ICCC is to promote
Indian Cultural heritage among the Indian as well as the Canadian members of the
community. This is also to provide support services for seniors and youth, taking initiatives
for charity and philanthropy and using the centre for various programs and activities.

The proposed community centre is a single story, approximately 35,000 sq ft. building. The
building will serve the cultural, social, educational and spiritual needs of the community.
Thus, it being a landmark infrastructure in Windsor.

Proposed facilities are:

● Meeting rooms
● Banquet hall-cum-auditorium (450 persons)
● Library
● Indoor fitness Center
● Basketball court
● Swimming pool
● Regulated day care center
● Outdoor field

The project is done with the belief of Unity in Diversity which will bring the community
together. This will create a healthy environment for the exchange of views and sharing of
distinctive cultural backgrounds. This will also serve as an outlet that will be presented to
various levels of government, to reduce the socio-economic challenges and several
hardships that are faced by the Indo-Canadians.
