I.

INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND

Geographical Location
San Vicente lies approximately at 119.00 degrees longitude and 10.50
degrees north latitude on the northwestern side of Palawan, West Philippine
Sea bounds the municipality west of Taytay and north of Taytay on the East
and Puerto Prinscesa on the Southwest. This municipality os located 186
kilometers from Puerto Princesa City, traversing municipality of Roxas and is a
4-hour drive from.

Land Area and Political Subdivison


The municipality has legal jurisdiction over Ten (10) barangays located
within the entire 165,797.6525 hectare municipal area. The 10 barangay of San
Vicente are the Caruray, Port Barton, Kemdeng, Poblacion, New Agutaya, San
Isidro, Alimaguan, Sto. Nino, New Canipo and Binga. Aside from these inland
areas, 22 smaller islands scattered on the West Philippine Sea also form part of
San Vicente.

Among these islands Boayan has the largest total land area of 1,327,.31
hectares followed by Cagnipa with 507.94, Catalat 261.12 and Albaguen and
Imuruan with 175.62 and 130.05 heactares.

Topography
Except for some isolated areas, the terrain of San Vicente is generally
rugged due to the vast Pagdanan and Central Ranges that traverse the entire
municipality elevation range from zero to 703 meters with Pinagmangalucan
lowest part and a portion of Pagdanan Range between Kemdeng and
Poblacion as a highest part.

Climate Characteristic
San Vicente within the top climate classification with six months’ season
period (December to May) and six-month wet period (June to November)
based on 1996 rainfall data. The minimum rainfall recorded was 03 mm. in the
month of February and the maximum was 605.1 mm for the month of
November. February has been observed to be the driest, a slight change from
the month of august. Northeast winds prevail during the month of November
to May, while southwest winds prevail during the month of June to October.

Demography
Data on population is based on NSO census of 2016, were in the
Municipality of San Vicente has a total population of 31, 643 and 7 876 total
number of families. Compared to CBMS data of difference represents an
increase in population by 11.45% while the number of household increased by
1416 or 21.91%. This increase in the household number could be attributed to
new household stablished when former members get married and new settlers
due to migration. CBMS data results of 2016 in particularly on population is way
below the data on previous years because of limited number of household
covered during the serving conducted.

Labor and Employment


Total labors force accounts to 9025 cut of this figure 8007 are working,
employment rate at 88.72% which is lower compared to 2008 CBMS serving
were in employment rate was 99.85%.

Income
CBMS data of 2011 shows that 51.07% is the proportion of population
living with the income below poverty threshold which means that more than
half have low income while 28.81% are those living average threshold.
Household living poverty threshold increased by 5.12% in 2011 compared to
the year 2008. This is not a good indication despite the good employment rate
at 88.72% though it increase in 99.55% of 2008 it is hope that the situation could
be reverse in the coming years as more and more initiatives are being
undertaken by this LGU to improved the living condition of the populace.
II. OBJECTIVES

This 2018 contingency plan covers the whole area of responsibility of the
SDRR team of San Vicente National High School, Poblacion, San Vicente,
Palawan. It focuses on Meteorological hazards that could trigger the
secondary hazards which would affect the exposed in the entire school

These objectives are as follows:

a. To determine the immediate tasks required for response


operation to conduct inventory of resources available in the school;

b. To stablish coordination among partners through efficient


communication and linkages; and

c. To provide the immediate needs of the affected school


properties and to reinforce the standard of reporting system set by the
DRRMS.
