II. Physical/Chemical Change

1. Chemical -a new product is formed

2. Chemical -adding heat to the bread cooks it, changing it on a molecular level.
3. Physical - when water evaporates, it changes from the liquid state to the gas state, but it is still water
4. Physical and Chemical - on heating, candle wax melts and form liquid wax.Burning is a chemical
change that involves oxidation thus producing heat and light.
5. Physical - it is because when the temperature goes up, the frost can melt and when it freezes, it forms a
frost again.
6. Physical - when the electricity is off, the filament cools down to its original physical state.
7. Physical - if water is just heated to its boiling temperature then there is a physical change of rise in
temperature
8. Physical - it is the phase transformation of water from liquid to gas during water cycle and then, gas to
liquid.
9. Chemical - because the baking powder or soda whichever one undergoes a chemical reaction.
10. Physical - the properties are still the same
11. Physical - the properties are still the same
12.Chemical - .it results in the formation of new particles
13. Chemical -a new product is formed
14. Chemical - and it forms SO2 (sulphur dioxide ) as the sulphur reacts with oxygen in the air to form
this colorless and poisonous gas.
15. Physical - chemical formulas at the end are the same as they were at the start,
16. Physical - the properties are still the same
17. Chemical - mold, a living organism, is consuming the sugar, water and minerals in the bread. And the
bread is decomposing.
18. Physical - changing of color of a substance is not necessarily an indicator of a chemical change
19. Chemical - fireflies produce a chemical reaction inside their bodies that allows them to light up
20. Chemical - there is a chemical reaction between silver and sulfur compounds which results in silver
sulfide
21. Physical - added enough energy to create a phase change from solid to liquid.
22. Chemical - formed completely new substances
23. Physical - the properties are still the same
