Narrative Report on Project REDI:


Reinforce and Equip SHS students to make
Decisions about their future Including career goals

Project REDI or Project Reinforce and Equip SHS students to make Decisions about their future
Including career goals is a webinar series that aims to help the SHS learners of Northville 15 Integrated School
to organize their thoughts in decision making for their future career goals. Different renowned resource speakers
from different companies and succesful businesses were invited to share their expertise to the students when it
comes to the important points to remember when deciding about the careers they want to pursue for their
professional and individual growth. The series took place in five days. The first two days were about the
webinars and the remaining days focused on the career orientation and mock job interview. The said project was
proposed by Dr. Glenda N. Naguit, Master Teacher I and the OIC Assistant SHS Principal of NV15IS. The SHS
teachers and Dr. Naguit worked hand in hand to make sure about the success of the program.

Day 1 (May 24, 2021)

The first day of the Northville 15 Integrated School’s webinar series titled “Project REDI: Reinforce
and Equip SHS students to make Decisions about their future Including career goals”, started with the
help of Mr. Adrian Eustace P. Miclat, a SHS Science teacher who served as the moderator for the series of
webinars. Ms. Charisse Faith C. Manila (a SHS Filipino teacher) led the opening prayer and it was followed by
the singing of “Pilipinas Kong Mahal” a Makabayan song. Then, Mr. Ariel T. Perez, the principal of NV15IS,
welcomed everyone with his opening remarks followed. Mr. Amando C. Yutuc, a Public Schools District
Supervisor delivered an inspirational message to motivate the learners in deciding for themselves wisely when it
comes to what they really want for themselves. Before the webinar series transpired, Mr. Miclat gave some
reminders such as to comment the names of the learners for their attendance and to ask questions after each
plenary. However, due to some technical difficulties the scheduled order of the speakers was not followed.
Supposedly, Ms. Norma N. Bulaclac was the first speaker for the day but instead, it was Mr. Reginald P.
Tolentino who shared his presentation first.

Mr. Reginald P. Tolention is a guidance advocate in Philippine Science High School Central Luzon
Campus. He started by showing a video about soft skills and later on, he discussed the differences of soft and
hard skills. Mr. Tolention also emphasized the importance of these in a work situation or work place. Right after
Mr. Tolentino had his plenary session, students were asked to comment their questions in the comment section
of the fb live. Some asked about how to conquer their speaking anxieties and how will they be guided in
choosing their future careers. A certificate of recognition was given to the first resource speaker afterwards.

Mr. Tolentino’s talk was immediately followed by Ms. Norma N. Bulaclac’s sharing of expertise. The next
resource speaker is Holy Angel Univeristy’s Guidance Services Director. She started by asking the participants
how they feel about themselves that day. Then she defined personal development and elaborated about self
awareness. She also imparted some tips about self awareness, career planning, and how to plan for one’s future.
The second plenary ended with the question and answer portion and presentation of the certificate of
recognition.

The third plenary resumed at 1:00 in the afternoon. The resource speaker was Ms. Hazel A. Carbungco
(Administrative Officer IV- HRMO, DepEd Division of Angeles City). She gave a recap about the ways on how
to choose what will be our career in the future. She also highlighted the importance of career planning, where
she mentioned her experience when she was about to go to college. Ms. Carbungco presented and elaborated the
top 12 most in demand jobs for the next 10 years. The speaker also reminded everyone to “learn to celebrate
small wins” and “life is never a competition”. The Q and A session was conducted for the last plenary of the
day as well. After presenting the certificate of recognition to Ms. Hazel A Carbungco, the program was
concluded by the moderator Mr. Adrian Eustace P. Miclat.

Day 2 (May 25, 2021)

The second day of the webinar series also started with a prayer and a makabayan song led by Ms.
Marjorie C. Bachini (a TVL Teacher in the SHS). The opening remarks for the second day came from the
proponent of the project which is Dr. Glenda N. Naguit, Ph.D (OIC- Assistant SHS Principal). An inspirational
message was given by from Dr. Josephine G. Figueroa where she left a quotation saying “a difficult road often
leads to a beautiful destination”. Mr. Adrian Eustace P. Miclat, the moderator of the series, introduced the
speakers for the second day of the webinar.

Mr. Arnel D. Santiago Jr., an entrepreneur and the owner of “Thug Piptea Group” was the first speaker
of the second day. He explained the entrepreneurial skills on the 21 st century. He also shared his own view on
the attributes that are shared by the entrepreneur. He also shared his experiences and insights that led to the
growth of their business.

He was then followed by Mr. Jeffrey N.

The webinar series continued to the 5th plenary which was conducted by Mr. Jeffrey N. Canlas (career
guidance coordinator/ guidance designate of Northville 15 Integrated School SHS). He discussed the ways on
how to accomplish resume and to ace the job interview. He also highlighted 5 easy steps or tips to be followed
in accomplishing a resume, like using Canva. He reminded the particpants to be authentic and be themselves in
doing those things related in applying for a job.

The participants were given a lunch break time and were asked to be back for the 6 th plenary. The said
session started at 1:00 in the afternoon, but while waiting, the moderator prepared an ice breaker where the
students were encouraged to interact. Then, the webinar started with the presence of Dr. Gertrude P. Tuazon.
The last speaker is the director of Holy Angel University’s HRMO and she basically talked about the
employees’ rights in and out of the workplace. She even presented and explained some of the rights that the
employees must know before and after signing their contract with the companies they will work with. After
that, the speaker and the host of the program welcomed and answered some of the questions which the students
asked. All resource speakers also received their certificates of recognition. Mr. Jeral S. Reyes, the SHS Focal

Person, delivered the closing remarks with his prepared speech. Then before finally ending the live broadcast,
the moderator left some few more reminders that will be beneficial for the participants.
