CHAPTER 5

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter summarizes the aspects of the study. The findings as well as the

conclusion arrived therefore, and the recommendations offered were based from the data

gathered.

This study aimed to determine the level of proficiency on the essential teaching

skills of the Senior High School Teachers in Tabango District during the school year

2019-2020.

To achieve this purpose, the descriptive method of research was used. The

questionnaire technique of data gathering was also used.

The data gathered through the questionnaire were statistically treated with

percentage, mean and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).

Specifically, it answered the following questions:

1. What is the profile of the teachers- respondents according to:

1.1 Age,

1.2 Sex,

1.3 Civil Status,

1.4 Highest Educational Attainment,

1.5 Seminars Attended, and

1.6 Monthly Income?


2. What is the level of proficiency on the essential teaching skills of the

respondents?

3. Is there a significant relationship between the profile variables and level of

proficiency on the essential teaching skills among the respondents?

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

Based on the data gathered, the following are findings of the study.

1. Profile of Teachers

Age

The age of the teachers ranged from 20 to 49 years with a mean of 30.75 years.

Gender

Out of thirty-two (32) teachers, twenty-five (25) or 78.12 percent are females, and

the rest, seven (7) or 21. 87 percent are males.

Civil Status

Out of the respondents in this study, twenty (20) or 62.5 percent are single, ten

(10) or 31.25 percent are married, and two (2) or 6.25 percent are separated.

Highest Educational Attainment

Eighteen (18) or 56. 25 percent of the respondents are M.A with or no units, six

(6) or 18.75 percent are Doctorate Graduate, and one (1) or 3.12 percent in Doctorate

Units and M.A Graduate. Most of the teachers are M.A with or no units.
Monthly Income

Most of the respondents has a monthly income of Php20,000-Php30,000.

CONCLUSIONS

1.The typical teachers- respondents used in the study is 30.75 or 20-49 years old, a

female, has a thirty thousand pesos (Php30,000) monthly income.

2. The level of teacher’s performance was Proficient.

3.There is no significant difference between the profile variables and level of proficiency

on the essential teaching skills of the Senior High School Teachers in Tabango District

when grouped according to profile variable were accepted.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Based on the findings and conclusions arrived at in this study the following

recommendations are herein posited to aid the teachers as they endeavor to improve the

level of proficiency on the essential teaching skills.

1. Results shown in the Level of Proficiency on the Essential Teaching Skills may

be used in the formulation or improvement of essential teaching skills where

teachers and students are actively involved.

2. The teacher should recognize in taking care of the students.


3. Further studies should be conducted to determine the other factor that affect the

essential teaching skills. Replication of the present study can be made using more

Senior High School Teachers and involve the essential teaching skills.

4. Training and seminar for teachers on different teaching skills must be provided

especially to the area of specialization.

5. Teachers must evaluate themselves on what aspects they are not good so that

they could practice and learn more.
