KLPS Project
About Innovations for Poverty Action: Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a research and policy non-profit
Organization that discovers and promotes effective solutions to global poverty problems. IPA brings together
researchers and decision-makers to design, rigorously evaluate, and refine these solutions and their applications,
ensuring that the evidence created is used to improve the lives of the world’s poor.
About the project: The Kenya Life Panel Survey has been tracking young people since 1998 during the Primary
School Deworming Program. We have already done the first wave of our fourth round for the adults and will be starting
the second wave soon. We will also be starting the Kids component along with an additional adult component soon.
We look at the expenditure, income, health, nutritional, educational, and employment outcomes of those involved in
the Primary School Deworming Program. As for the Kids, we mainly conduct some cognitive tests. Most of the
individuals in the current adult sample have also participated in additional projects: the Girls’ Scholarship Program,
the Vocational Education Voucher Project, and the Start Up Capital for Youth project.
