The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that 11% of
all alcohol consumed in America is by those between the ages 12 and 20.

Definition of Terms:
Peer Pressure - a feeling that one must do the same things as other
people of one’s age and social group in order to be liked or respected by
them.
Schoolgoers – one who attends school.
Partygoers – a person who goes to a party or attends many parties.
Binge drinking – when a person consumes big amount of alcohol.
Specific Questions:
1. How do the respondents describe the influence of peer pressure on
the use of alcoholic beverages among the following groups:
a. Schoolmates
b. Outsiders
2. What are the experiences of the respondents on the use of alcoholic
beverages in social parties?
3. What are the challenges of the respondents on resisting peer pressure
relative to the use of alcoholic beverages?
Methodology:
Phenomenological method is used to describe the experiences of
respondents engaging in drinking apart from school activities.

Ethical Considerations:
The researchers will inform the Head/Principal of the school for the
conduct of the study. There will be assurance in the confidentiality of the
data used to cover the identity of the respondents of the study.
