Problem No. 1. Two resistances of 10 and 15 ohms each respectively are connected in parallel.
The two are then connected in series with a 5-ohm resistance. What is the equivalent
resistance?

Problem No. 2. Three resistors R1, R2 and R3 are connected in series-parallel with R1 in
series with the parallel combination of R2 and R3. The whole combination is connected across
a 120V DC source. Resistors R1, R2 and R3 take 750W, 250W and 200W respectively. Calculate

the resistance R2.

PTotal = P1 + P2 + P3
= 750W + 250W + 200W
= 1200W
