4. SPECIAL NOTES
4.1 Reformer radiant coils (harps) are to be installed in strict accordance with Purchaser Construction
Standard MB5-6CS, "Radiant Coil Alignment and Balancing Procedure".
4.2 Millisecond furnace crossover balancing and radiant coil installation shall be in strict accordance with
Purchaser Construction Standard MB5-4CS, "Crossover Balancing and Radiant Coil Installation Procedure for
Millisecond Furnace".
4.3 All field welds of furnace pressure parts are to be in strict accordance with Purchaser Technical Standard
4-7TS, "General Welding Requirements".
4.4 Examination of all field welds for process coils fabricated in accordance with ASME B3.1.3 is to be in strict
accordance with Purchaser Technical Standard MB8-1TS. This examination shall include field welds of radiant
coils, convection section process coils, and their connecting crossovers and jumpers.
4.5 Examination of all field welds for boiler feed water and steam superheater coils, fabricated in accordance
with ASME Section VIII Division 1, is to be in strict accordance with ASME B31.3.
4.6 Alloy verification of all external furnace piping and welds is to be in strict accordance with Purchaser
Technical Standard 2-1TS.
4.7 Field hydrostatic leak testing shall be in strict accordance with Purchaser Construction Standard 8-1CS and
field pneumatic leak testing shall be in strict accordance with Purchaser Construction Standard 8-2CS.
4.8 Only those materials identified on KBR issued requisitions are being provided new for this project. Any
additional materials or components required due to demolition and erection activities or required maintenance
spare parts are the responsibility of the Owner and installation contractor.
