In the recent years, technology has improved in a fast-paced way as our

society regardless of their ages has used gadgets to communicate with others.
Moreover, the usage of these has been widely utilized in the midst of pandemic
especially for students to do their tasks and have online classes. Some people
believe that it is essential to use computer in education whilst others think that it is
dangerous to depend a lot on computer in teaching. These will be discussed further
in the following paragraphs.

Using computer as teaching method in classroom offers bright sides of using

it as this will make it easier for teachers to monitor the students. It is because,
students will pay more attention and as the environment is not as noisy as in a
physical one. For example, a Malaysian class has thirty students which causes an
unconducive condition. Thus, students can use the features of video application in computer
such as mute the microphone to avoid noise. As a result, student will have better
performance in their academics.

On the other hand, some argue that dependency on computers in teaching

can be destructive to students. This is because they might be too obsessed with
computers. For an example, when students are given computers, they are likely to
explore unrelated applications. Consequently, spending a lot of time on the computer
screen could cause these students to suffer from poor vision.

Personally, I am in agreement that computer should be used as a tool for

classroom teaching. This is because I believe that living in the twenty-first century
where advancement in technology is inevitable. Thus, students must be taught
computer skills. Take for example, schools in Japan are currently using computer-
assisted method in their classrooms. As a result, the most of the young Japanese
are computer literates.

In conclusion, there is no doubt that computers are essential in today’s

education. Some people believe these should be used in classrooms while others
argue that using computers has adverse effects on the students. Personally, I agree
with the former view because technology advancement is part of our lives nowadays.
Students must be computer literate otherwise they will be able to advance in their
future career.
