EEC326 ASSIGNMENT 1

TITLE: MATERIAL ANALYSIS AND PROPERTIES OF

MILITARY BODY ARMOR, SOLAR CELLS AND
GOLFBALL

NAME: PRAMEET PRASHANT NARAYAN

STUDENT ID: 2021001213

AIM
The aim of this assignment is to the know the material used and it
specific properties in Military Body Armor , Solar Cells and Golfball.

INTRODUCTION
The equipment which will be discussed in this assignment are Military
Body Armor, Solar cell , Golfball and other further discuss the material
used and its specific properties

METHOLOGY
To Complete the above assignment I have used online resources to
conduct my research. The steps I followed while conducting this
assignment was ,first, selecting of three items. Secondly, conducted the
research to find the materials used in these items . Thirdly, conducted
the research to find the specific properties used in these materials.
1) MILITARY BODY ARMOR- Body reinforcement, otherwise called body covering, individual
shield/defensive layer, or a suit/layer of covering, is defensive attire intended to ingest or
divert actual assaults.
MATERIALS USED
a) Kevlar
b) Steel
c) Polyethylene
SPECIFIC PROPERTIES
a) Kevlar- Kevlar has one of a kind properties, like high rigidity, high
durability, and compound steadiness at high temperatures in
fragrant polyamides.
b) Steel- most utilized reinforcement prepares are martensitic –
solidified prepares. The principle dynamic substance compounds
in solidified prepares are iron (Fe) and Carbon (C). The properties
are overall accomplished by various measure of carbon, other
alloying components like Chromium, Nickle and Molybdenum, and
specific warmth treatment measures.
c) Polyethylene - protective layer produced using Spectra and
Dyneema is progressively connected with very good quality
models.
2) SOLAR CELLS - is an device that changes over the energy of light
straightforwardly into power by the photovoltaic impact, which is a physical
and compound wonder.
MATERIALS USED
a) crystalline silicon
b) amorphous silicon

SPECIFIC PROPERTIE
(c-Si) is the glasslike types of silicon, either polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si, comprising of
little precious stones), or monocrystalline silicon (mono-Si, a consistent gem) .

b) A thin film sun oriented cell is a second era sunlight based cell that is made by saving at least one
slight layers, or thin film (TF) of photovoltaic material on a substrate, like glass, plastic or metal.
3) GOLF BALL- a little hard ball utilized in the sport of golf,
commonly made of dimpled white latex.
MATERIALS USED
a) Ionomer
b) Polybutadiene

SPECIFIC PROPERTIES
a) Ionomer_ gums made by killing corrosive copolymers with a high dissolve record, comparing to
a moderately low atomic weight, however which have been generally exceptionally killed, can
be utilized, either alone or in mixes with other ionomers, as materials for golf ball covers,
without loss of key properties for that application.
b) polybutadiene - The mix incorporates a non-metallocene catalyzed polybutadiene elastic and a
metallocene-catalyzed polybutadiene elastic. Impetuses like neodymium, nickel, and cobalt
based impetuses might be utilized to make the non-metallocene catalyzed elastic. Impetuses,
for example, ferrocene, cobaltocene, nickelocene, titanocene dichloride, zirconocene dichloride,
and samraocene based impetuses might be utilized to make the metallocene-catalyzed elastic.
CONCLUSION
I have identified the materials used and it’s specific properties which make the materials
reliable and function well. I have chose to findings on the above items due to its importance
in today’s era and it’s contributions to science.
