PRESENT SIMPLE

The Present Simple tense is the most basic tense in

English and uses the base form of the verb (except for
the verb be). The only change from the base is the
PERFORMANC
E addition of s for third person singular.

Ex: You read very good in the class

My friend writes very good in English

How do we make the Present Simple tense?

1. Positive sentences example: my family works all the day

THEORETICAL
FRAMEWORK subject + main verb

Present

2. Negative and question sentences

subject + auxiliary do + main verb

conjugated in Present Simple

do, does base

Examples: negative

My school doesn´t open this week

Does my sister read very well?

Look at these examples with the main verb like:

PAST SIMPLE
We make the past simple just like the present simple
except we use 'did' instead of 'do / does'. It's really
easy because 'did' doesn't change, even with 'he / she
/ it'.
The positive form:
We usually make the positive by adding '-ed' to the
infinitive. For example, 'play' becomes 'played'.
However, there are some irregular verbs, for example 'go' becomes 'went'
and 'run' becomes 'ran'

Positive with Other Verbs

I walked (regular)
you played (regular)
he cooked (regular)
she listened (regular)
it rained (regular)
we ate (irregular) cambia al escribir el pasado

The negative form

All verbs use 'did not (didn't) + infinitive':

Negative Negative Short Form
I did not walk I didn't walk
you did not play you didn't play
he did not cook he didn't cook
she did not listen she didn't listen
it did not rain it didn't rain
we did not eat we didn't eat
they did not drink they didn't drink
ACTIVITIES

2. Jane (arrive) an hour ago.
3. We (go) to Bob's birthday party yesterday.
4. I (be) on holiday last week.
5. She (see) fire.

2. You tidied up your room. → You up your room.
3. Olivia became an actress. → Olivia an actress.
4. We found the treasure. → We the treasure.

1. (you/dance) at the party last night?
2. (she/do) her homework?
3. (Robert/work) at the post office?
4. (they/help) you with the washing-up?

STAND BY ME
(Ben E. King)

When the night has come

And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid
Oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
So darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me
Stand by me
If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry
No, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
And darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand now…
