Internal Assessment: (Scheme) 50 marks (10 marks for attendance +


40 marks for the day-to-day assessment of performance in lab
sessions evaluated through daily preparedness for conducting
experiments, participating in conduct of experiments, report writing
and submission, interaction, sincerity and quizzes)

End Semester Practical Examination: 50 marks


1. STUDY OF BOX TYPE JIG

When holes are to be drilled in more than one plane of a


workpiece, the jig has to be provided with equivalent
number of bush plates.

For positioning the jig on the machine table, feet is


provided opposite to each drilling bush plate.

One side of the jig will be provided with a swinging leaf for
loading and unloading the workpiece.

Such a jig would take the form of a box.

The body of such a jig should be as light as possible since


it will have to be lifted again and again.

Practical Assignment:

Design a Box type jig for drilling 3 holes on 3 different


planes of a cylindrical workpiece. Assume suitable
dimensions.
