DAMAGE CLAIM PROCEDURE
Your new Do A LL milling machine has been carefully prepared for
shipment. Any apparent or concealed shipping damage should be brought to the
att�ntion of the delivering freight carrier immediately. The following steps will
expedite settlement of any damage claims you may have with the carrier.
1. Thoroughly inspect for any signs of damage.
2. If any damage is discovered, make certain a notation describing damage is
made on the freight carriers delivery paperwork,
3. Should any concealed damage be discovered after the delivery of your mach­
ine notify the freight carrier immediately and confirm in writing. Take pictures
whenever possible, they will substantiate your claim. Normally concealed dam­
age shou Id be reported within ten ( 10) days after delivery.
Please remember, reporting and recovery for any shipping damage is the respon­
sibility of the consignee,

WARRANTY
Any equipment or part thereof ( except electric motors and equipment which car
-ry only the warranty of their manufacturer) which, under normal, single shift
operating conditions in the plant of the original purchaser proves defective in
material or workmanship, wi thin one year from the date of shipment, as deter­
mi ned by our reasonable inspection, will at our option and expense either be re­
pa ired or replaced. Warranty labor will be provided as contemplated herein only
within the Continental United States. Outside of the Continental United States
warranty labor will be available on a per diem plus expenses basis. This warranty
is condit ioned on prompt notification to DoALL of any claim of defect and the
establishment that the equipment has been properly maintained and operated
within the limits of rated and normal usage. We e xpressly exclude from this
warranW any liability whatsoever for loss of use or for any indirect or conse­
quential damages. THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF
ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR PURPOSE AND
OF ANY OTHER TYPE, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.

Insert 5/8-1 lNC eye bolt in tapped hole.
Ensure bolt is fully secured before lifting.
It is advisable to swivel head before lifting
machine.

METHOD 2
Use rope sling as illustrated. Insert pads
of soft cloth between rope and machined
edges. It is advisable t o tilt the head before

l. Remove rust preventative before moving any slideways.

2. The coating is best removed by using paraffin or a safe solvent

applied with a clean brush. When the coating has softened, remove

with clean rags.

3. Oil or grease all lubricati on points. Refer to the lubrication section

of this manual. PAGE 31-33.

Preventive Maintenance

For securing the accuracy and life of the machine, we offer the following preventive
maintenance charts.

Frequency Item

1. It is necessary to oi l each l ubrication point before oper­


ation.

Daily 2. C heck the level of the oi l l ubricator and f i l l if necessary.

3. It is necessary to release the clamps, clean and lubricate


the table after operation.

1. Check a l l the gibs and adjust if necessary.

2. Check all the backlash between screws and nuts, and adjust .

BELT REPLACEM ENT

1 . Disconnect electrical power to the machine.


2 . Remove drawbar.
3. Remove motor.
4. Lower quill to f u l l extension.
5. Remove 6 screw 'A'.
6. Remove belt housing 's', tap to withdraw from dowels.
7. The belts may now be changed.

B RAKE SHOE REPLACEMENT

Repeat the sequence l . to 6. on page 36.


1. Remove 2 screws 'A'.
2 . Remove 2 screws 'B'.
3. Push bearing hub 'c' clear of housing.
4. Remove 3 screws ' o'.
5. Replace shoe.
6. Ensure screws 'o' are fully t ightened and locked with washers and nuts.

MOTOR REMOVAL

1 . Run head to adjust to lowest speed.


2. Discon nect elect rical power to the machine.
3. Remove 3 screws 'A' & cover 's'.
4. Using the two screws 'A', compress spring 'c'.
5. Rotate the speed changer to the hi ghest speed:
6. Remove the reversing switch from the belt housing.
7. Remove the two locking nuts 'o'.
8. Lift the motor and rest the case on stud 'E'.
9. Ease the belt over the lower drive disc and remove the motor.

TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT


1 . Remove the motor.
2 . Lower the quill to full extent.
3. Remove the two lower cap screws 'A' from the speed changer housing.
4. Remove the four cap screws '9' .
5. Remove the top assembly 'c' and tap to clear dowels.
6. Replace the belt.

DRIVE BELT R EPLACEMENT

1 . Remove the motor as described on page 38.


2. Remove the three screws 'A'; insert into the adjacent tapped holes and withdraw
bearing housing 's'.
3. Remove the two screws and the bushes 'c'.
4. Remove four screws 'o' and one screw 'E'.
5. Remove four screws securing the speed changer 'F'.
6. Remove top housing ' G '; tap to c l ea r the dowels.
7. Replace the be It.

COUNTER-BALANCE S P R I N G R E P LACEMENT

l. With quill, at top of movement apply qui l l lock.


2. Remove screw 'A', hub 's', and key 'c'.
3. Remove screws 'o', a l l owing housing to rotate s lowl y releasing spring tension.
Caution should be e xercised during this step.
4. Lift end of spring from peg on the pinion shaft.
5. Rotate housing 'E' anti-clockwise from head casting.
6. Remove spring from housing and replace.
7. Refit spring to main housing casting turning housing clockwise unt i l spring
locates on peg in pinion s haft.

FEED TRIP AD.JUSTMENT

1. Release locknut 'A'.


2 . Engage trip hand l e 'c'.
3. Adjust micro nuts against quill stop 's'.
4. S lowly turn adjusting screw 'o' unt i l lever 'c' trips.
5 . A t this point secure locknut 'A'.
6 . Check that positive trip action is obtained.

C OLLET ALIGNI NG SCREW REPLACEMENT

1 . Use felt pen, mark reference line on q u i l l and· nose cap 's'.
2. Remove set screw 'A'.
3. Unscrew nose cap 's'.
4. Remove lock screw 'c' and col let aligning screw 'o'.
5. Replace 'o'; insert R.8 collet and check that the dog on the end of the screw does
not foul on the bottom of the guide s lot.
6. Replace lock screw 'c'.
7. Replace nose cap 's'; check felt pen ma rkings for correct alignment.
8. Replace set screw 'A'.
Caution: do not overtighten as this w i l l cause d istortion
9. Check gap 'E'. (0.00 3 " = . 08mm M I N I M U M CLEARANCE)

1 . Crank the saddle to M i.d posi tion .


2 . W ithdraw 4 screws 'o'.
3. Pul l the sadd le forward to expose screws 'A' & 'B'.

5. Whi l e slowly t urning handl e 'c', t ighten screw ' B' unt i l .004" or . 005" i s obtained.
6. Lock screw ' A' onto ' B' .
7. Final l y crank the s addle t o the front o f the knee and replace 4 scr ews ' D' .
