INTRODUCTION
The papaya is an incredibly healthy tropical fruit. It’s loaded with antioxidants that can reduce
inflammation, fight disease and help keep you looking young.
Papaya is one of the luscious fruits that is popular here in the Philippines. No one can deny its
tastiness as a dessert or as an indispensable vegetables dish of various recipes.
Papaya fruits are good sources of Vitamin A, B and C and possesses medicinal values. It is an
excellent source of digestive enzyme papain and has the potential to resist constipation. It is
useful for resisting cancer and also it can fight against colon infections.
Making jam using Papaya fruits is another nutritious and delicious recipe that will sure a hit in
your breakfast table. Try this simple recipe and you won’t be disappointed! You can even make
a good profit out of this new Papaya jam recipe.
RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup papaya
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
1 tablespoon chia seeds
½ cup brown sugar
PROCEDURE:
1. To prepare the papaya cut into half and quarter and scrape out and discard the seeds
and strings with a spoon. Cut and discard the peel as well.
2. Cut the papaya into small pieces making it easier to mash.
3. Stir together papaya, lemon juice, and sugar in a medium pot. Make sure to mix the
ingredients to make sure that they are well incorporated.
4. Over a medium high heat, cook the mixture. Stir constantly as the mixture heats.
Once boiling, add in your one tablespoon of chia seeds. Switch to low heat.
5. Simmer the papaya jam for a while until the jam is set. Continue until desired
consistency is obtained.
6. Transfer in sterilized bottles.
