T h e history of the Rosicrucian Order as set forth in the book R osicru cian Q uestion s
an d A nsw ers w ith C o m p lete H istory of th e O rder sets forth dates and incidents tradition-
ally and chronologically by which the Order originally carne into existence. It outlines
the many vicissitudes it experienced in its long progress through the centuries.
Like all traditions, the m ajority of which are perpetuated by word of mouth, so too
were the Rosicrucian ones. However, the ch ro n o log ica l history should wherever possible
be substantiated by factual matter.
In the Rosicrucian Research Library and in our archives at Rosicrucian Park, are
many books written by early Rosicrucians who were prominent in its activities several
centuries in the past. These rare books are in various languages. T h e books of course
can only be removed and seen at Rosicrucian Park by visiting members during World
Conventions.
There are also in our archives documents and correspondence from dignitaries of the
Rosicrucian Order throughout the world, such as Charters, Decrees, letters of affiliation,
authority, and recognition. T h e great m ajority of these were directed to Dr. H. Spencer
Lewis as Imperator of A M O RC. T hey do substantiate much of what appears in our
Rosicrucian Order, A M ORC, literature regarding its authenticity and its recognition by
Rosicrucian Orders throughout the world.
These original documents are ordinarily shown to volunteer committees of members
attending the W orld Convention periodically at Rosicrucian Park. Obviously because of
the great valué and frailty of many of these documents, they cannot be shipped about the
world to lodges, chapters, or pronaoi for personal examination.
It has been requested by Rosicrucian members in resolutions submitted, and appeals
from subordínate A M ORC bodies, that such documents be photo-reproduced and sent in
that manner for their exposition and files.
T o photograph all this voluminous material would be very expensive, and would re-
sult in a cumbersome reference work. W e have, therefore, in this dossier gathered together
what we believe are the most important and the most representative material. For ex-
ample, there may be a dozen or more Communications from a dignitary of the Rosicrucians
of Europe to Dr. H. Spencer Lewis on affairs of the Order, but one or two of them are
sufficient to show the liaison and the relationship of A M O RC to the older Rosicrucian
bodies of Europe and their esoteric affiliation.
T o save space, important paragraphs, signatures, and letterheads of some of the lengthy
Communications only are shown. Further, since the material presented is in several lan
guages, brief translations or explanatory captions accompany them for the convenience of
those who do not read the language in which they are written.
At any W orld Convention held at Rosicrucian Park the w h o le of these origin al docu
ments herein reproduced will gladly be shown, as well as the numerous other material too
voluminous to appear in this work and not essential to its purpose.
T his dossier is divided into sections. Each is a separate classification of documents.
Section Two, for example, is devoted to Authority and Organization.

This impressive tower building in Toulouse, Southern Francc, was at
one time the center of the oíd Rose-Croix. the French Rosicrucian Order,
whose authority chronologically dates back several centuries. It was
here that Dr. H. Spencer Lewis was initiated into the Order in 1909,
and from whence he subsequently received his authority to reestablish
A M ORC in America.
